Following on from Play.com's price cut to £7.99 yesterday, Amazon UK have just cut their price for The Dark Knight to £7.98, - good for those who don't want to buy from Play.com or who have Amazon Prime and can thus get 'free' next day delivery (Amazon Prime DVD's seem to ship from the UK, presumably with UK VAT paid).

Oh wow, a whole penny off! This deal really is so much better than the Play one.
Who exactly would want to buy off Play with their very good delivery and returns service - Amazon is just so much better!
Also, you can get Quidco cashback on Play purchases but let's disregard that.
Overall a thoroughly much better deal.

The Play.com posting is acknowledged - this is a good alternative, for those who don't like Play or who have Amazon Prime and can thus get next day delivery from Amazon in the UK (with Amazon paying VAT to the UK government on such sales, unlike Play.com). Amazon Returns are, in my experience, very good - never had a problem. Never had to return anything to Play. but I expect they take as long to get back to Jersey as stuff sent from Jersey takes to get here (i.e. ages, compared to next day delivery).

Those who use Quidco are doubtless aware of the cashback from Play.com. Makes no difference to those of us who can't be bothered with the faff of Quidco in pursuit of tuppence ha'penny, when it works, so yes, not relevant to this post.

Thanks for your comment beesknees Please respect the fact that members go to the difficulty of posting deals up to keep this site full of fresh offers
Some members prefer Play, some prefer Amazon, especially if using Amazon prime.

Thanks for posting Ajibee

ive had a quidco account for just over a year now, every possible purchase i make through them and so far its meant that i have been paid back £79 for 2mins of online forms and clicking on the Quidco prior to the shopping site.
Much prefer the money was in my pocket.
For me and many others Quidco makes a difference where we shop

From The Hut web page linked to:
"Usually despatched within 4 working days."

So, pay £7.98 today and get it tomorrow from Amazon, or save 25 pence and get it late next week or early the week after (4 working days for despatch, plus transit time from Jersey via Royal Mail to your door, probably another 3-4 days).

Brute. Technically it's a question too, but I don't want to be pedantic.

The HMV deal is a good one, but it's instore, not online, so not good for those who like to shop from home, and probably not worth the hassle unless you happen to be going past an HMV store anyway. In any case, they didn't drop their price until later in the day, some five hours after the Amazon UK deal was posted.

Down to £5.98 now at Amazon and there was stock when I checked.

A bit of a price war going on I think.

Worth getting as it is an excellent film (IMHO).
