uses 1x 1.5v AA battery to charge your phone. I wonder how effective this is to charge a 5v phone battery.(Good price if it works, though.)

Might be better to get a USB charging lead or a car charger.

yup i thought of the same thing.. though most NiMH batteries will be rated 2500mAh @1.3v! So charging at 5v should really be useless. Rather go for the ones from poundland, for £1, use 4xAAA batteries!!!

I just got one for when I go on holiday - 24 hours in a plane will flatten the phone with a fair bit of MP3 playing so will carry the charger and a couple of AA's - job done.

It converts 1.5V to 5V to charge the phone battery and quotes 90% efficiency.

An AA alkaline battery is rated at 1.5V and about 2500 mAh, the phone is 3.7V and 1000 mAh. So if 100% of the AA ended up in the phone, it would give a full charge (1.5/3.7x2500).

In practise, I suspect it will be nearer 50% so each AA will give me an extra 5 hours MP3 playing. And get a couple more for the way home again.

(P.S. Did I mention I was off to Oz for my hols?:whistling:)
