The British people had no sooner finished rescuing their trapped army from Dunkirk than they found themselves preparing for an attack from the Germans once again. This time, the Nazi menace struck from the air, as Hitler’s Luftwaffe bombed the British in an attempt to break their spirit and force Great Britain to accept peace terms. But as the skies above London filled with the German planes, the Royal Air Force pilots, alerted by radar, flew to intercept them. The Luftwaffe had started the Battle of Britain confident that the RAF was no match for German aircraft and skill, but the pilots of the RAF, the people of England, and the bulldog tenacity of Prime Minister Winston Churchill did not intend to give way.

The heroism of the RAF and the fortitude of the British people turned Germany’s certain victory into defeat, forcing Hitler to abandon his plans to invade England. “We shall never surrender,” Churchill vowed, and his words rallied a nation, delivering a blow to the Nazi war machine that would, in the end, prove to be a turning point in World War II.

Can you imagine what would have happened had a certain blond ex-HIGNFY buffoon been PM?
My original comment, I have been advised by HUKD's Admin team has been deleted, the reason expressed was...

Hi sabresonic

Since hotukdeals was launched in 2004 we've allowed members to openly discuss their position and feelings on a huge range of subjects. While we encourage all users to be respectful toward one another at all times, we're sure you can appreciate that the aforementioned topics tend to create huge discord among our community and account for a disproportionately high amount of complaints and reports.

We've taken the decision as of March 1st 2018 to no longer allow debate or discussion on politics or religion. As many of you have mentioned in the past, these threads typically tend to head one way and the users within them can often be accused of flamebaiting.

We hope you can understand why we've taken this decision and appreciate your support.

I assume the reason is politics because I expressed an opinion on who I felt was responsible for the lack of PPE for our carers to protect the elderly and themselves against the Coronavirus in our care homes.

My main point was that if it wasn't for this generation who are now dying in too greater numbers from this new evil in our care homes... and who stood up and defended this country and other European nations during WW2, our lives and potentially much of Europe and the wider world could / would look very differently today.

I'm not some English Defence League or National Front supporter....far from it and the opposite in fact. Whilst I can somewhat understand the reason for deleting my comment, I think its a shame that the original statement and the sentiment behind it, whilst possibly interpreted as political, was removed, especially as it has been shown to be true.

Sadly a number of people who would testify to that have as a result, sadly sacrificed their lives in the wake of Coronavirus.

With regards to the deletion of my original, I hadn't noticed any comments from other HUKD members challenging my opinion on who has been ultimately responsible for the lack of PPE in our care homes, but maybe they complained directly to HUKD's Admin team. To those HUKD members that 'Liked' my post, thank you!

To the HUKD admin team...I have looked through the links provided and couldn't find reference to the debates no longer permitted. Could you help me find the text that you feel would be particularly useful in this instance please?

As a member for over 13 years I value my membership and the positive contribution HUKD's has made upon our shopping and purchasing habits, so I don't want to fall foul of publication and code of conduct rules.

I've taken a screen shot this time so I can remind myself if I've crossed over the red lines in terms of debate and comment in this new post.
