so charging to play early is now officially a thing....really not acceptable

65 notes, no season pass and not even a physical disc to trade or sell. Wow. Will check the foreign stores for digital instead.

afraid it is lol tbh alot like early access to get ahead of the competition on multiplayer and so will pay for it and companies know this so.take advantage

I think it's only 1 week early access aswell

I think they are not doing season pass this time. I think they are going to copy star wars battlefront model.

Just NO

Battlefront has a £40 season pass

They should follow Titanfall 2, and give dlc for free.

I wouldn't be surprised if they release a lower priced premium add-on. I understand they want to keep the revenue coming in over the next 3 years but all those maps just split the player base and I think they said that is something they want to avoid. I would be happier for a £20.00 premium pass with weapons, gadgets, skins and maybe early access to a few throwback maps or something. But in the end everyone should have access to all the maps.

Slightly different type of game, but I've been impressed with the Standard/Season Pass model for Rainbow 6, where Standard gets all maps (so no split of the community) but you either have to buy currency or grind to unlock new operators. Not sure if that could be emulated in a Battlefield game. Battlefield has had the 'shortcuts' model for some time where you can buy weapons upgrades with real money to avoid having to grind to get them and the 'battlepacks' gimmick is basically the same thing but with random items. Oh, and I think if you subscribe to EA Access you get even earlier access to BF1, so that may be best value if you want to play from day 1 (minus whatever early access is available)

Ubisoft also has a good version for Rainbow Six Siege. Everyone gets all the DLC, but season pass holders get the new operators and maps early (as well as having to grind less). The player base isn't split and people who want to spend a bit more can get something decent for their money.
