Battlefield 1 takes you back to The Great War, WW1, where new technology and worldwide conflict changed the face of warfare forever. Take part in every battle, control every massive vehicle, and execute every maneuver that turns an entire fight around. The whole world is at war – see what’s beyond the trenches.

Key Features:

Changing environments in locations all over the world. Discover every part of a global conflict from shore to shore – fight in besieged French cities, great open spaces in the Italian Alps, or vast Arabian deserts. Fully destructible environments and ever-changing weather create landscapes that change moment to moment; whether you’re tearing apart fortifications with gunfire or blasting craters in the earth, no battle is ever the same.

Huge multiplayer battles. Swarm the battlefield in massive multiplayer battles with up to 64 players. Charge in on foot as infantry, lead a cavalry assault, and battle in fights so intense and complex you'll need the help of all your teammates to make it through.

Game-changing vehicles. Turn the tide of battle in your favour with vehicles both large and larger, from tanks and biplanes to gigantic Behemoths, unique and massive vehicles that will be critical in times of crisis. Rain fire from the sky in a gargantuan Airship, tear through the world in the Armored Train, or bombard the land from the sea in the Dreadnought.

A new Operations multiplayer mode. In Operations mode, execute expert manoeuvres in a series of inter-connected multiplayer battles spread across multiple maps. Attackers must break through the defense line and push the conflict onto the next map, and defenders must try to stop them.

Its a game about what ? WW1 is it an "alternate science fiction world" ?
No it isn't. The excuses being made for its inaccuracies are the same mode as rewriting schoolbook history to suite the usual suspects

Battlefield 1 was published / released in October 2016. So if your laptop is the one reviewed here I would suggest it will struggle to play the game at all

The fact is it's a brilliant game and nobody has a clue what you're on about. You'd seem a lot less whiny and emotional if you actually provided reasonable examples and realised that games are supposed to be fun, not history books.

Where is this suite of usual suspects? I'd love to meet the lalilulelo rewriting history in games so we never find out the truth of one of the most famous events in history.

They had automatic carbines, known as submachine guns in WW1 I think.

Verdun is a more historically accurate WW1 shooter if that's what you're in the mood for (i.e. mostly bolt action rifles, trench warfare etc.).

With Battlefield 1, it's as much about whether you want a Battlefield game as much as a WW1 game. They prioritised filling out the series standards with loosely historical weapons and vehicles. To make it fit in with the weapons/attachments/vehicles/class formula, they aren't historically accurate in terms of how common things were, how reliable they were, how powerful they were etc.. As far as I know, most of the guns in the game did exist at the time, but a lot of them were in limited use or even at a prototype stage in the late stages of the war. So things like the BAR M1918 and MP18 did exist, but you wouldn't have seen every other soldier running around with them.

It's basically the same old Battlefield game with a WW1 lick of paint. You could argue that if they weren't going to do WW1 accurately, they should have avoided it altogether. I found it to be a refreshing change personally, albeit a shallow one.

Jesus christ dude. You're the one arguing so obviously the burden of proof is on you to actually make your argument, clearly and logically. Instead of vague complaints that have little to do with anything.

All you're doing is whining and acting like a ridiculous manbaby.

The irony in you calling anyone stupid isn't lost on the rest of the users here.

Touch a nerve did I little man ? Go back to jumping from blimp to blimp or using machine guns and assault rifles, or running along bi-planes wings onto another biplane, or the many ludicrous (but accurate to you) things in your game.
No doubt you actually believe they dropped an atom bomb in World War 1 too ?
I had no idea the battlefield series was supposed to be a historically accurate simulation of war. In that case it's sh#t! What a terrible game.
Sorry embarrassingly yes I thought it was the one from. 2000 although it didn't seem Quite that long ago lol....Nz no joke I am that stupid! .
