I urge everyone not to purchase the DLC when it's full price, the way EA have handled DLC in this game is outrageous. The least they could do is release them free permanently
Edited by: "SupremeJJ" 23rd Nov

Not free, it's a free trial!

Awesome game far better then cod.Maps are amazing and gaming experience 2nd to none.

It's good for players who are on the fence to try out the new maps and see if they feel the DLC is worth purchasing.

I paid around £40 for the original game at launch then £39.99 for the premium pass when it was released. Can probably get both now for about £20 now but I've had a year's worth of fun out of it. Fantastic game.

No one smart buys it full price when it's regularly on sale.

What have they done? I always wait for sales anyway.

Finally this has got the right price for me.

works out about £9 from Russian xbox store if you buy the right top up cards.

I have one rule, i never buy at launch and i never buy dlc, TWO! rules, i never buy at launch, i never buy dlc and i don't touch season pass until i can get a GOTY edition for under £10, THREE! rules..............

As mentioned before BF1 Premium pass is currently £12 for Gold members and £16 for non Gold at Microsoft, not sure quite why you would buy it if you didn't have Gold though....

microsoft.com/en-…1.0

I won't touch EA with a barge pole now with their never ending micro-transactions...... Who would have thought you would buy a game (that is normally unfinished) and then must continue to pay just to make progress

Not anymore EA..... not from my pocket

that's not really the case in BF1

these are decent map packs. 2-3 weeks of free play is a nice.

£12 for the premium pass to get these permanent and 2 further map packs is a good deal too imo

Title shows nothing about trial but description does? So this isn't free DLC?

Awesome game far better then cod.Maps are amazing and gaming experience 2nd to none.

This is misleading. The title implies the DLC is on temporary free giveaway like EA do sometimes when in fact it's actually just a trial.

Absolutely brilliant game, the details in the sound and visuals are second to none, so immersive. Current prices are a steal.

Same here. I am not giving that vampiric company any more money, ever again. They've pushed too far recently exploiting gamers.

That's very gracious of you. I found it very annoying when they released the Revolution edition so cheaply before they had released all the premium pass content.

Does anybody know if with the premium pass being on sale, the DLC maps are populated enough to find games?

i've never struggled to find a game on the DLC map packs.

new one "turning tides" comes out next month.

i wouldn't be surprised if EA jack up the premium pass price once this trial finishes and the new DLC drops.

I understand where you're coming from. Had I not loved the base game so much I wouldn't have bothered with the DLC unless it was really cheap/good value but the fact I did means it doesn't hurt as much

I've been playing COD WW2 this month and no doubt will get the DLC as I'll feel like I'm missing something if I don't.

Don't normally bother with DLC, but the premium pass at £12 for gold is good value for money I think. I've started playing BF1 again recently after buying COD WW2 and hating it. Think I sold it within about 3 days of thoroughly trying to like it!

The adding content from the premium pass add a lot of re-playability to the BF multiplayer

That was my concern, but I've had zero issues getting games to play on with the DLC maps, and you'll notice when getting killed, a lot of the times it's from people using the guns you can only obtain from buying the DLC so there must be plenty of people who have bought it.

Says £10.99 for me on the first DLC

Plenty of populated servers. Very easy to find the maps you want. Still the best shooting game out there at the moment:)

Many thanks just ordered.

Same as also Paid full price for both game and season pass and very happy with my purchase.

Plenty of populated servers on console. I can understand some of the hate for EA but they are trying to make money like everyone else, the premium model got lots of hate and they changed it. Sure they'll get it right eventually.

They know exactly what they're doing, it's not guess work, dont show sympathy!

I'll do as I like, thanks. I don't like Star Wars either. If that game falls flat on it's face and forces future Battlefield titles to avoid pay to win then it's fine with me.

How is this so hot?? A short free trial vs buying all DLC for £11.99... I know which is the bigger bargain.

I was about to reply saying this is not so (based on logic that most of the unlock requirements are not dlc content specific), thankfully I thought to double check first and found I am mistaken. Tis a shame, dlc is the maps, guns should be available to all once the criteria have been met.
forums.battlefield.com/en-…dlc
Loving the game so far and each new chapter. No issues finding a populated server, used to have issues finding a good operations server but that has now been addressed by having them visible in the server browser.
Its worth noting I am a diehard battlefield fan, bought and played a good chunk/far too much of every game since the original game, BF 1942.
I think the DLC/premium pass setup is a bit stingey but still ok value for money considering the amount of content, the optimization, the polish and overall quality of assets within that content, new game modes, events, good lore/history coverage, great great sound.
I paid about 30 squid each for game and premium pass around the time of release.
Looking forward to the next dlc. Bottom line, Dice make great big budget games, EA are greedy as hell, games like this require a big budget due to lots of licensed tech and people involved.
On this topic, Battlefront looks great, beta was fun, but the loot crate setup crap is a travesty. Pity
