Spin-off from the original Battlestar TV series!

All 10 Episodes, No Extras...And Barry Van Dyke from Diagnosis Murder!

What more do you want for 4 quid!?? (8% Quidco cashback too!)

After its initial cancellation, fan outcry led to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA being restored to TV screens--albeit in revamped form. Set 30 years after the original series, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA 1980 finds the star cruiser of the title finally reaching the glimmering oasis of Earth. Unfortunately, they've also led their dreaded enemies, the robotic Cyclons, to the planet. In order to prepare 1980s-era earthlings for intergalactic battle and save the human race from destruction, Captain Troy (Kent McCord) and Lieutenant Dillon (Barry Van Dyke) are sent down to meet with the planet's scientists and jump-start their primitive technology. Along the way, they get in some interesting culture clashes with bikers, police, and an intrepid TV anchor (Robyn Douglass). Though the premise is altered, the series is still full of the laser battles and deep-space sequences that made the original so popular with legions of fans. Features the complete first series.

Even at the time I knew it was dreadful (and I was easily pleased, I even liked Buck Rogers), but that one good Starbuck flashback episode, plus a cheap way of being a completist makes it a no-brainer must buy at this price!

but only 1 ep is actually watchable. The rest is torture to the eyes and brain.

Yeah, great price but I couldn't justify owning this rubbish if it were free, rep given but can't being my self to heat this deal

That is a fracking good deal!:-D

Nice little piece of sci-fi history, for all its production faults.

Quite amazing how the producers took parts of this series (Part 1 and Part 7) and cobbled together a movie "Conquest of the Earth" in 1980 which was released at the cinema in the UK .:w00t:

No doubt they pitched it as a rival to The Empire Strikes Back.

No prizes for guessing which won the battle

The Cylons were able to walk about on earth because they conveniently arrived on Halloween. It's the standard kind of outfit you would wear come 31st October.

But, knocking aside, this series was a forerunner to the much better "V" and the last episode with the flashback also seemed to be based on the 1979 novella "Enemy Mine" which became a movie in 1985. It has some "pedigree" in that respect

Good deal - Cheers

Deals like this have happened before and will happen again..........:p

Bought this for £5 from Play.com and knew I was being overcharged. Yes its rubbish bar the last episode but its one of those shows its so bad you have to see it. Voted hot

You just gotta love those flying motorbikes! I remember wanting one of those a kid more than anything!

This was awful compared to the original tv series. Not voting either way though, as for under £4 you can't really complain.

This is Superb Just for the Cheese factor

Cheese on Toast!

Loved it as a kid and yeah those bikes were awesome - but hey this was cool in the 80's as a youngster
so I rekon a good deal for this price

H&R

I never knew Galactica 1980 even existed. I remember the 1978 tv series, but not this dross. Not sure I'm happy I've just found out it existed either

Save some money and watch this, only takes 3 mins as well. Far less waste of money and time
