Relive the biggest sea battles of World War II as you blast your way across the Pacific from the chaos of Pearl Harbor, through the Philippines, Java and the Coral Sea all the way to the epic Battle of Midway.

Battlestations: Midway's unique blend of intense 3rd-person action and epic, large-scale naval combat brings to life the Battle of the Pacific in a WWII shooter unlike any game seen before.

Unique gameplay lets you take direct control of over 60 different warships, planes and submarines from a 3rd-person perspective. Whether you issue quick orders to your fleet or take command of the overall battle is your choice.

Follow the war through the eyes of new recruit Henry Walker and lead your fleet through 11 huge campaign story missions and test your ability under pressure in 12 bonus challenge missions. If that's not enough, go online and battle for supremacy with up to 8 other players in huge head-to-head or co-operative fleet battles, featuring over 60 Allied and Japanese units.

Whether you're powering through the ocean in command of a heavily-armed, 72,000 ton battleship, engaging the enemy in fierce aerial dogfights, launching multiple attack squadrons from the deck of your aircraft carrier or unleashing deadly torpedo strikes from hidden submarines, you're always in the thick of the action and in total control.

Features:

Massive firepower: Command the awsome firepower of over 60 powerful war- machines in some of the biggest aerial and sea battles of WWII

Unique gameplay: Experience epic WWII combat from multiple perspectives as you jump between dozens of units, playing as a pilot, a gunner, a submarine captain or even carrier fleet commander.

Extensive single player: Allied campaign featuring 11 huge missions, 12 bonus challenge missions and an immersive storyline.

Addictive Multiplayer: Huge multi-unit online battles with up to 8 players controlling over 60 units on PC.

There is more to it though - firstly you are paying half that price to get it through GreenManGaming, and you will be able to trade it back in to GMG at a later date.

Just looking at yesterdays deal - Tomb Raider Anniversary - cost 99p, and todays trade in value is £7

Today you can buy Battlestations Midway for £1.98, and has a trade in value of £1 today - expect that to rise tomorrow once this deal has ended.

Exactly, it will have a trade-in value that the DVD might not have.
Furthermore, the price of the DVD on amazon (at £4.30) is still 217% of the cost of the download (I know that the DVD is a physical copy but is it worth the extra £2.32?).

Another hum, I had the illegitimate version of this and the in game sound worked fine. Having got this version the sound doesn't work in game. Up to the cut scene I can hear the voice over, then nothing.

Thats a strange one, it works fine for me.

This deal is now over, but if you bought the game and don't like it, or it didn't work, you can trade it back in for £4 - effectively doubling your money, though only usable on GMG

Anyone else having trouble actually downloading the file ?

I've left mine on all day and still at just 4% :-(

The 3 downloads it suggests trying (directx, nvidia, openAL) if you have problems all timeout before they finish downloading as well.
