They get even less support if I don't buy it or wait till it appears on a humble bundle

You've posted loads of game deals, including bundles- surely they're all about paying the devs less?

EDIT: It's worse than I thought. You previously posted a game deal for Amazon US! Seen the light now?

Cheaper on GOG using Russian VPN

Would just like to mention that using a VPN to buy GOG games cheaper somewhere else is against their terms of service.

"6.11. Please treat this system sensibly and don't exploit it (for example by using VPNs or other methods to manipulate how your location appears) – that's not cool."

I don't know if they'd ban your account for doing it once, but I wouldn't like to take the risk.

Couple of things - I've bought quite a few games this way and no issues. Secondly, the joy of GoG is that all games are DRM free, so you do not need their system to play your games.

Never heard of anyone being banned/account closed for this - has anyone?

This is weird. Their terms suggest it shouldnt be cheaper because of where you live because everyone should be treated fairly...but then states a price match with US only? Not really in the spirit of the sentiment but their business and can run it as they see fit.

From their site...
Everyone should be treated fairly and not overpay for purchases just because they reside in a different part of the world.

If a product on GOG.com costs more in your country than the price in the US, we will make up the difference in value out of our own pockets, and offer it to you as free Wallet funds that you can use towards any future purchase.

Though I agree that its not cool to use the VPN trick and you should support the devs, using cdkeys is no better, use a legit key site if its something you care about.
Last I checked, this was a deal site, not a moral high ground parade?

The fact that the game is available for a third the price elsewhere needs to be shared? No?

Lol, that's a burn.
lol, so easy to trigger folks. Im sure if folks wanted it cheap enough, they would simply torrent it, as its not on their precious Steam platform.

Im maybe being ignorant but what's wrong with cdkeys? I haven't seen anything to suggest their comparable to something like G2A.

They generally buy their keys in bulk from cheap regions like Russia, so really not much difference between using them and a VPN, though they are not bad on the same level as G2A.

I'm not passing moral judgement here (I occasionally use cdkeys), I'm simply pointing out that anyone who feels using a VPN to get the game cheap is wrong should probably feel the same way about cdkeys

Cheaper on GOG using Russian VPN

If it’s not on Steam, it doesn’t exist
I preorder Witcher 3 via GOG from "Ukraine" for £9. Played it for years. No issue.

It could be me being thick but whats the difference? Why compare UK with US? But not UK with Russia? What is the definition of a region? You could very well be right but my brain interprets it differently. Cheers

They may be or maybe not. That wasnt really my point. They said price shouldnt be based on where you live. And so if its cheaper in US we'll credit your account the difference. But refund policy shouldnt be determined on where its cheapest? Because they just said so in their terms...

Thats why i said its not really in the spirit of 'we got your back if you find it cheaper'. But the terms say UNITED STATES. Either deliberately or as an example. Im derailing this too much but i just figured you shouldnt need to use a vpn and they shouldnt need to tell you its 'not cool to use one' because the pricing would effectively be the lowest that it can be found on their sites(s).

Lol, I would never send anything sensitive(your CC details for example) through any Russian VPN proxy server.

Not sure what the LOL is about - you know you should buy using the Russian VPN and disconnect the VPN once you launch Paypal before logging in? ... not sure what is so funny about that?

Paying 3 times the price by not doing so really is LOL
