I think this is a pretty good deal even being a refurb!

Actually you can get a 32" Techwood for the same price using the £10 off Google Checkout at Ebuyer:

I don’t see how a resolution of 1024x768 is classed as HD Ready when the lowest resolution for HD is 1280x720! Even 720P video will be downsized on this screen which doesn’t help picture quality. 1024x768 isn’t even a widescreen aspect ratio as it’s 4/3 rather than 16/9!
It’s quite common practise for HD Plasma screens to use this resolution and be classed as HD Ready but I think it’s a con.
I would avoid this unless you have very low expectations.

I think you will find that HD is measured in horizontal lines. The minimum needed to qualify is 720 so this TV surpasses that at 768. So it is actually HD ready. I can't comment about the quality of the TV though.

That's how they chose to cheat with the HD specification. It's a mockery if you ask me, taking the wee.

the best plasma of its generation the panasonic 60 was only 1024x768 and that outperformed everything else in the marketplace....its just like a digital camera resolutions arent everything....a 5mp camera can easily outperform a 10 megapixel one even when blowing images up.

I appreciate that resolution isn't eveything but all other things being equal surely a 1:1 pixel mapping is optimal!

I got this for my mum last Thursday,
Lets just say, it's going back!
It was covered in scratch marks and it ain't the best quality pic,
Yes i know it was refurbished, but the state of condition was terrible!
Could have been my luck ??, i don't know, but my mums older mono TV had a better pic!

HTH future buyers:-(
