Baufix 5ltr Wood Treatment Gel at LIDL (2 for £20)

Found 11th Mar 2013
Picked up some of this earlier in my local Lidl... it's was in the clearance area at £12 each I believe and 2 for £20 (which is what I went for).

I have no idea how good or bad it is but it is a gel treatment for wood and also comes in a stain. I went for the Rosewood stain but they had a slightly lighter Walnut stain and also a clear preserver. Each tub will apparently cover 50 sq. metres.

There is some more info on the Baufix german website baufix-online.com/sho…tml

Here is a better link to the LIDL.DE site... I used Google Translate to read it.

I bought 2 tins of this last week and painted a fence with it. Seems to be good stuff....I went for the darker colour....can't remember what it's called....but it has come out a lovely nutty brown.

It's very easy and clean to apply as its a gel....and it took very little gel to paint quite a lot of fence. I painted one coat....and it seems to have held up to the heavy rain we had last weekend.........:p

Its normally pretty decent stuff. Germany if memory serves, and they dont do anything wrong do they. hehehehe

Looking at this weeks leaflet they are also stocking Baufix Wood Stain... it looks very similar stuff except it is not a gel and doesn't appear to contain polyurethane (for whatever benefit that gives. The stain is £9.99 for 5lts

I have finally got around to using mine and it's really good stuff... I sanded down old timber on part of my house and then recladded the other part... both have been finished with Rosewood Baufix Wood Gel.

I'ts going to be available again from 1st September, in a smaller 2.5ltr tub and it is more expensive but the coverage as I have found is very good.

We need to cover a rough cement/concrete floor in the basement. Dampness from the underground penetrates in some parts of the floor, along the outer walls of the house. Does this influence use of Baufix farbe as used in garages?
