Bauhn products are sold exclusively through ALDI stores - so it is no different from any shop owned brand - bush in Argos, some other rubbish from PC World. They are made to a budget not to a standard, so they will produce a poor image, the product will be very low quality and be unreliable.

The brand has been sold in Australia for a couple of years and seems to be made in Australia. The reviews are ... pretty bad

Well those reviews were pretty clear, the price with DVD player is tempting, but no way after reading those reviews.
It might be worth taking a risk if you want a cheap 12v TV for a caravan/campervan though.
If you can do without 12volt option, slightly smaller screen (but full HD) and the DVD player (I'd avoid a built in one as they make the TV bulkier) I'd certainly recommend the Samsung 22" Full HD Freeview HD TV for £139..... gives excellent HD Freeview images, has decent connectivity. I've been very pleased with mine, even the terrible sound isn't as terrible as some small thin TV's (although still mediocre at best)

I got an Altec hd TV from Aldi 2 yrs ago. Still going strong with a decent image and also allowed me to record unencrypted freeview hd on an ext HDD which I could then simply convert for PC viewing. That tops even the fanciest Sony's and Sammy's.
Maybe stop bashing generalisations as each product is on its own.

This is not an Altec HD TV but another brand sold in Aldi. I am a regular Aldi shopper and they have many good bargains. This TV is not one of them judging by people who have bought it.

You can either shop blind and then be surprised how poor a product is or do some research which will help you make the best buying choices. I prefer to buy knowing information rather buying random products.

The reviews for the TV is for the Australian Market, maybe the build quality may be better for the UK Market. I cannot find any decent reviews for this TV!

Its the same TV, I very much doubt it will be much different from the same make and model sold in Australia. You may be one of the lucky few who are happy with their purchase. Maybe is just wishful thinking, like buying a lottery ticket.
