Thought this was a cracking price for this washer with the parts and labour included. This exact same washer is available at Argos for £492.99 + £166.99 (parts and labour) + £5.95 delivery = total £665.93 (Item number 471/2985)

This Baumatic washing machine gives a superb wash, while also maintaining the quality of the fabrics. It manages this with superb features such as generating 500 million air bubbles in a cycle that are gentler on fabrics while giving excellent wash results. The 35 minute quick wash programme means that you can wash plenty of loads in a day, but the excellent efficiency and delay starter functions mean you don't have to worry about the electricity bill! Baumatic haven't forgotten about the design either - the fantastic lines mean this washer will fit into the most modern of kitchens and look up to date. Details such as the LED display not only look good but makes it easy to understand which wash you are selecting. Overall, this washing machine is hard to beat - a fantastic wash by a renowned quality manufacturer.

Be very careful with anything 'made' by Baumatic.

All the products they 'make' are unbranded white goods from the Far East.

All that Baumatic do is put their name on them.

£270 with 5 year warranty is OK probably.

Argos price is a joke and I can only assume that their price is just in place waiting for the next Sale to start, when it will be magically Half Price (or less).

Would not buy any other Baumatic products as there after sales service is rubbish. Three weeks to come out to look at my washer under warranty. Sorry cold from me.

It's also £439.99 + £139.00 5 year parts/labour + £35 delivery @ electricshop.com and is around this price in most places. Next best I could find was £262.59 at appliance-world.co.uk but this didn't include the 5 year parts and labour which seems to be around £140 to purchase

Cracking price IMO!
Heat added.

You can get a decent Siemens, Bosch etc, machine for that sort of money.

5 year guaranties aren't worth anything if your washing machine keeps on breaking down

I'm a bit concerned that other sites that sell this offer a two year warranty. I'm trying to contact customer services to confirm the 5 year warranty before I buy.

If you're not worried about a 5 year warranty ]this Hotpoint Ultima WMD960P is a good price at £260 +£19 delivery. Says it's R Grade but also that it's new and boxed. Anyway, you'll get more in it (so less washes) and it has a far better spin.

When I first moved into my flat I purchased a undercounter fridge and undercounter freezer which was baumatic branded both were only £99 each and came with a 3 year warranty each.

Fridge broke down after about a year so I rang baumatic and a engineer was sent out within a week, he condemed it as it was a discontinued product and baumatic told me to contact the person I bought it and tell them.

They came and collected the product and I got a full refund. Freezer is still going strong after 3 years. So my vote is hot, shame it wasnt silver or I would have got it

Surely it is when your washing machine keeps breaking down that 5 year warranties are worth lots.

I bought an AEG from Dixons the other week on the strength of the bundled 5 year warranty.

i suspect its a typo, the next best gtee i can find is

"Comes with full 2 years labour + 5 year parts manufacturers guarantee!"

and i suspect this is more like standard - still useless after 2 yrs tho as they will just charge the earth to vist you

let us know how you get on, if it turns out to be 5+5 then this should get really hot, otherwise at 2+2 i've found it £240 pickup or varying delivery depending where you live, but most addresses in england should be able to get it delivered for £19-29

Worth even less if it never breaks down!:-D

I agree - if it is 5 years parts and labout then definately V HOT. We are currently in the middle of a kitchen refit and I have been looking at Baumatic products online, and their warranty package has consistently been 5 years parts/2 years labour on the products that I've looked at.

I have a hob and oven from them and both have the 2+5 warranty, so suspect this would be the same. Have found their stuff better made than similar priced makes, better knobs, build quality etc.

Not voting, but due to lack of info on 5 year labour.

On the Baumatic web site it says the below about their warranty...

]Guarantee

Your new Baumatic appliance automatically comes with a 1 year parts and labour warranty. As testimony to our commitment to you, our valued customer, Baumatic will offer you a second year's labour and an additional 4 years' parts warranty absolutely free on certain products. Registration must be returned to Baumatic within 28 days of purchase to qualify for the free 2nd year labour warranty and 4 years parts warranty.
So it's 2 years labour and 5 years for parts.

And up to £49 for delivery.

wow!!!! I bought a 7kg Hotpoint from Currys a few months ago (also posted on here) for £219.00. If I knew this was coming I would have waited, If only. Who ever says Baumatic is a cheap brand cant really afford it. I sell Appliances for a living and in my experience baumatic is right at the top with LG, AEG, Zanussi, etc......Nice find.

That might have been true a few years ago but my mate is a Baumatic engineer and he said to avoid the new stuff.

It is cheap though...

I can't find any info on the warranty on the Asda site? I believe this is a misprint. 5 years parts guarantee is nowhere near a 5 year guarantee with labour.

Maybe, Maybe not, Like I said I sell this stuff and I hardly ever get any complaints about them. Yes, the new stuff in every brand is nowhere near as reliable as it used to be.

As ever, if you buy this then make sure you print the page out from the site and attach it to the receipt, then Asda as per the sale of goods should have to honour it. The contract is with them not with Baumatic

ps. this is only a washing machine ppl

Saw this in currys in Banbury, spotted the 5 year warranty salesman stated "ah, yes sir but thats parts only, if you want parts and labour then you need to take out out warranty"

Is it parts and labout for 5 years?

LG & Zanussi are top of the range? so where do Bosch, Miele, AEG fit in then?

Most of the makes are owned and made by the same companies IIRC?

I had a Zanussi washer dryer, took out the 5 year warranty - went wrong 22 times in that time.
I had a hotpoint washer dryer , took out the 5 year warranty - went wrong 15 times in that time
I had an indesit washer dryer, took out the 5 year warrnty - went wrong 2 times in that time.

Indesit for me every time.

Gun

With the amount that washing machines and dryers break down, I won't buy one from anywhere other than Costco. If it breaks at any time - you get a new one. Simples

Got a AEG washing machine about 8 years ago, never had to call anyone to repair it as of yet and been using it almost everyday...

Next machine will either be another AEG or Bosch or Miele....no im not german but quality speaks for itself

Does any one know if this model has a child lock or separate spin only cycle?

5 year guaranties aren't worth anything if your washing machine keeps on … 5 year guaranties aren't worth anything if your washing machine keeps on breaking down

WELL SAID!!

A long warranty can mean one of two things.

1: The appliance is rubbish and the manufacture has paid an insurance company out of there marketing budget in order to persuade you that the appliance is decent & reliable.

2: The manufacture gives you the warranty at no extra cost because they know you are unlikely to use it because the appliance is so good.

At the end of the day an extended warranty is useless if the appliance doesen't perform as it should. Surely you are better having a washing machine that has a one year guarantee & washes your clothes really well than one that has a five year guarantee and produces below average wash results and breaks down every six months - even if they are both the same price!

Before you buy, pretend it has just broken down in guarantee & 'phone the manufacturer and see how they would respond ......you may be surprised :whistling:

Sermon over

HEAT & REP ADDED :w00t:.....still a good find OP

Baumatic design and specify their machines in Europe and outsource manufacture to a number of plants in China. Each Chinese factory sources it's own components which should be to the spec defined by Baumatic. If the contracting factory has done it's job properly you'll get a good machine that will give you years of faithful service.

AEG is a re-branded Electrolux machine manufactured in Siewierz in Poland. Electrolux built the factory and have full control over it so you get a consistently good machine (the company I work for is a supplier to several white goods manufacturers). The actual company AEG folded in the mid nineties - it is purely a badge now.

Miele make their own washing machines in Germany. We don't supply them so the only thing I know about them is as an owner for the last 12 years. Machine is used once or twice a day, every day. One breakdown - outlet hose clogged up - fixed it myself for free.

At this price Baumatic could be worth a gamble. If it goes wrong in the first few months move heaven and earth to get a replacement rather than a repair.

Indesit/Hotpoint are the same firm, and in my experience are the best brands to go for in the middle market catergory (where I would argue Baumatic products sit). I would place Bosch, AEG, Miele etc in the top catergory (reflected in the price) and Proline, Beko etc as entry level brands (again reflected in the price).
