This is where I get my BBQ butane from.
Last time I bought it, it was £21.99 if you didn't have a return and £20.99 if you did.
Still a great price compared to Calor and other muggers.
Careful. Check the valve. Some are for BBQ and some for outside heaters.

But my point is they're advertising it as free when it's obviously not, I'm not slating your deal but I got the same email of them a few days ago and after looking on their website I thought cheeky bast**ds.

ok now im going to cry.

I just paid homebase £66 for a 10Kg one yesterday.... and yes.. i've used it already.
i have a small landmann gas bbq. it came with a propane regulator but i believe, with this regulator i can use butane instead?

i've been looking for a 10-13 kg propane tank but the costs if you dont have a replacement tank are ridiculous.

Agreed, I put an ad on Freecycle and managed to get an empty for free. Maybe worth doing if you haven't already get a tank to replace.
13 kg from Calor dealer is aprox. £35 plus filling. If you have the tank for 7+ years you only get back 25% from the original £35 (at least here at my dealer)

Firstly, you are an absolute tool for shopping in Homebase in the first place, the dearest high street merchant by far.
Secondly, why didn't you check on here first or at least google?

What you'll find is there's a £30.00 refundable deposit on the bottle and you bought propane not butane. (If I'm right in assuming you bought a gaslight)

What you received was a '27mm clip on' regulator which works with Calor/Flogas green bottles. A butane regulator is blue and has a '21mm clip on regulator' and can be used for calor blue bottles or flogas yellow bottles.

Calor are struggling with their metal (bottles) and are passing the buck on to stockists. £60.00 deposit for a 47kg bottle! And as you say goes down every year. Flogas charge a max of £15 for a 47kg propane prosit.

Or wait for the gypsy community to be evicted from your local park, you'll find plenty dumped there afterwards. (_;)

Bought a gas BBQ and came with a red regulator, which is for propane gas. Haven't bought the cylinder yet waiting for a good deal on propane cylinders.
Does anyone know if it's just a matter of changing the regulator in order to use a different gas or there's more to it?

Yes just change the regulator and you'll be all sorted.
The only problem you may have is if you bbq in the winter the gas will freeze if the outside temperature is below about 4 degrees.
