Just ordered the 57cm premium for 99 quid.....is this a better buy for a casual bbq-er

Sadly the one I spent £11 on back in 2015 is now showing at £20 on Amazon, so not such a good buy. if you know anyone coming over from USA ask them to get you one - the proper Weber cover costs about £45 here but ony $20 in USA :/

I know. I did buy staff before from amazon.com and they automatically add the import duty on. The problem is not every seller post overseas.

If it's over around £18.00 you'll probably have to pay import duty. I used to buy Harley Parts at half the UK price and get hit by customs every time. Still a bit of a saving but only if not available on a UK sale.

My Weber is 35 years old and still going strong. I wonder if the Tesco one would still be around in 35 years. The only difference between the Webber's they sell now and mine is plastic handles.

got mine on friday the starter thing is genius but blooming big to store - thought £70 is a lot for a basic bbq but you can see the quality of the product and all the reviews for people who've had em years - especially if youre like me and it doesnt get looked after very well, stays outside all year ! Think of it as an heirloom

I have this for probably 12-13 years, absolutely solid. Still going strong, even though I didn't use cover most of the time and left it outside in my garden all this time, no rust or anything. I paid significantly more than that originally, very good price. Also, if you will do barbecue for small groups often, this size is already very big, don't be tempted to go for bigger.

No just moving house - less things to take that aren’t awkward sized.

It went up this morning at 9:30 ish I was lucky and did a order over the phone they honored it for me. for a smoke colour and a premium cover for £189 delivered tomorrow

My current grill is a broil king, and when it was in warranty parts where sent immediately , however since then it has basically disintegrated

It’s definitely fire and once up to temperature forget (to an extent) temperature rock solid for hours

Packington pork shoulder from Ocado/Waitrose is great for pulled pork

I get my big cuts of pork from Makro, though I need a good supplier of brisket. Smoker is awesome, I defo recommend one. I've been making bacon recently as well, buy a whole belly, remove the spare ribs and BBQ seperately. Then wet cure the belly (skin removed) and smoke it however you like, cold or hot. Awesome

Haha, my 57cm I mentioned ordering turned up Wednesday, I smoked a chicken while seasoning the BBQ, went to do a rack of belly pork ribs today and it's a wash out. Ended up going shopping instead and bought some baby back ribs and some beef short ribs... So that's my few days off sorted for next week!

Well mine arrived today :p Just ordered a snorkle and flippers so I can use it tomorrow oO

There are other bbq's out there that are better if you want to spend £50, i.e Charcoal Oil Drum BBQ with Cover for £45 or Double-sided Oil Drum Charcoal BBQ £50.

voted hot as a good price for UK, but Weber stuff is so overpriced here. I tend to buy most of my bits in the US. take the smokey joe as an example. usually around £50 here but $29 in US. just pointing it out incase anyone has a trip planned and hadn't thought of it. airlines like BA are fine bringing stuff back so long as it's under max weight, they'll even cover the oversize luggage costs if the weight is fine :)

Sadly my Weber Genesis came with a bent chassis (they replaced it), the non-stick rails stick and it cooks unevenly. Door handles are not stainless so rust. They look good but in my opinion are overpriced even in this alleged near 50% saving. Good thing is that parts are available though expensive

I've got two charcoal BBQs - a Weber 57cm BBQ and a Landmann one purchased 3 years later. The Weber is still going strong with no rust. The Landmann is rusting, has Poe design features and cost nearly as much as the Weber. Thanks for this, I'll be replacing the Landmann.

This was 8 months ago, not this week! The package as posted is clearly out of stock and was a promotion. Clearly the one available now isn't the same package as you highlight this yourself. I think shops are allowed to do promotions and discontinue them when they want. This stinks not of a trading standards issue but user stupidity.

You advertise it for £217.99 then when you click the link it says "temporarily out of stock." You scroll down slightly and there's the same item for £299.99 and it is in stock! Stinks of a trading standards issue and the £299.99 doesn't have the cover, tongs, and mit that the falsly advertised one does. At least try and be honest and not so blatant!

At this time in the year it should be a much better price!

Weber Sales a bit earlier this year than previous years. Picked up a One Touch Premium for £70 at Homebase this morning to join my family of Webers. Still looking for a deal on a Genesis though! B&Q haven't really started their clearance on Weber stuff yet but may be worth keeping an eye out.

Yeah, the mastertouch is the model up from the premium. Difference is it had a roll back lid and a different grill grate that has the removable section in the middle. A lot of places start their clearances this week so should see some bargains coming up
