Good deal that. Tickets are worth at least, at a fiver each, which is unlikely, £60!

Essentially free if your regular cinema goers

Looks interesting, anyone found a review?

Not in my Tesco :-(

that's an awesome deal!

there is a short list of products that qualify for free tx's - this is not one !

i might be wrong but that blue ray doesnt show up in the valid products section

Can this be made multi region for at least DVD? The only thing this has that my Sony doesn't is built in wi-fi and Netflix.

Just downloaded PDF list of qualifying products,bdx5400kb is on the list!

This is one of the new 2013 range, which is a plus. However, Toshiba players aren't well regarded and customer reviews on Amazon for the 5300 model may be cause for concern:

Erm..... BDX5400KB TV
(the "TV" is irrelevant in the product number, as Toshiba does not make a television called the "BDX5400KB TV", only a blu ray player the BDX5400KB)

I've got the BDX5300 and its an excellent piece of kit. Never had a single problem. iplayer works great on it as well (although the smart features are limited in the main - just iplayer, youtube, picassa and maybe one more)). Adding a USB stick for downloading BD Live content or watching video files (incl MKV) works easily as well.

My only gripe is that the remote is pretty crappy (fiddly little buttons, and not very well laid out). I quite often use the Toshiba remote app on my Android phones, and this works perfectly.

How is this compared to WD Live TV in terms of the smart functions?

Can't get one of these anywhere

BDX3400 is this price (and 500 bonus club card pts and cinema tkts) at Telford. Maybe a pricing/labelling error at OPs store?

the only difference between the 5400 & the 3400 is the later doesn't play 3D, still a great deal that pays for its self if you're a semi regular cinema go-er, I went into three tescos, a currys & a richer sounds trying to get either of these this afternoon. Pretty much wasted my day.

Not needing 3D I might have gone for the 3400 (but only at this price because of the bonus pts and cinema tickets) were it not for is terrible terrible reviews. On the official Toshiba (USA) site nonetheless!! us.toshiba.com/vid…00/ shame really because it looks really nice too!

If we ever find one in time to take advantage of the offer at least Tesco have a straightforward returns policy.

Notwithstanding of all the heat has anyone managed to buy one?

they have them in tesco bursledon southampton

I've just found the 3400 in my local Tesco in Clay Cross for £75.00 - seeing as the 3D isn't important to me, this is still a good deal. Might pick one up after a chat with my better half.

EDIT: The 3400 doesn't have built in wifi or 3D but neither of those are important to me.

First one has sound issues, losing audio sync. Back to Tesco on Monday for a swap.

does anyone know if this has a usb slot that I could plug a usb stick into to play .avi, .mpeg4 and .mkv files on? I'm looking for a blu ray player for the bedroom that can work with digital copies of films (not illegal ones before someone cries copyright infringment!)

I'd avoid it like the plague. I've bought a Sony BDP 490 for £76 from BHS Direct. Far, far better, and What Hifi gave it 5 stars. It's such a good deal I'm thinking of adding it on here.

No longer available from BHS but Richer Sounds have it for the same price.
