Haven't a clue about coconut oil, but it says it's 100% refined. Whether that's good or bad I don't know!

Has anyone used this for their hair as a conditioner or as a teeth whitener?

I use it on my hair instead of gel, as gel gives me eczema. It works great and my hair is in great condition. The only downside is you need to be careful of getting it on your sofa.
I wouldn't use the solid stuff on your hair as it will get lumpy and a bit nasty, I use the fractionated liquid.
Hope that helps.

Ps - teeth whitening is actually oil pulling as described above.
It can be difficult to do as a lot of people are sick doing it, obviously some aren't.

Never had a problem with solid coconut oil (btb what do they put in it to keep it liquid?) I would put the glass jar in hot water to melt and put in my hair, or rub it in my hands to put on my skin. Body heat melts it quickly enough. Never encountered a problem with lumps, are you sure you're not allergic to coconut?

the solid stuff, just rub in hands for a couple of seconds first. turns to common oil consistency

I agree it's a great gel substitute. I actually find melting the solid stuff and applying to my scalp rather than directly on my hair itself, gives a stronger hold in winter and strengthens my hair too whilst saving the sofa too!
