One of the UK's most acclaimed directors, Shane Meadows (Dead Man's Shoes, A Room For Romeo Brass), returns with this award-winning film that chronicles one long summer in the life of a young boy. The 1980s of Thatcher, the Falklands War and Roland Rat is vividly brought to life through incredible performances and a mesmerizing soundtrack (including Toots and the Maytals and The Specials). Based largely on his own experience as a youngster, this is Shane Meadows' most mature and fully realized film to date.

All gone now

I watched this film last week and thought is was very poor.

It is just like a channel 4 "B" movie.

Still, you can't get much cheaper than free I suppose

He made Dead Man's Shoes which is a great family film.

I thought this film was ok'ish. Not amazing, could of been so much better, but worth seeing if you got nothing else to do for free. Suprisingly for me the soundtrack was a big big letdown.

I though the film ticked along nicely until the last 30 minutes, the ending was very poor.

This film gets a thumbs up from me.

Excellent set and extras from the 80s. Loads of things to remind you of the time.

Thought the acting was excellent on most peoples halves as well.
