Sainsbury's still free - get it while you can! Our local Tesco has started charging for air to pump up your car tyres. The local Texaco/Co-op has started charging. And Asda charges too (if the machine isn't bust). So make the most of FREE AIR at Sainsbury's while it lasts!!!

Morrison's give you a free voucher code if you spend £15 or more on petrol etc.

I guess they can afford to when their petrol is 1p more expensive

i paid 20p at tesco... not worth going out your way for but a good heads up,

Great thanks for the info, didn't know anywhere still did it free. Hope it's at all Sainsburys.

Shame, Sainsbury's in Huntingdon charge for air... Tightasses.

Free air and water at saimsburys Marshall lake, so this is and should be national

Can anyone remind me why compressed air is supposed to be free? Without resorting to the juvenile "They make enough money out of us" obviously.

Always been free in Sainsburys Chingford... Shame there's a longer queue for air than petrol at times... Cabbies LOL!

always pay about 40-50p at BP garage, CBA with supermarkets.

Mine used to do this free with any amount of fuel but recently I've been asking and been told no sorry not anymore just have to use the coins slot.
Pfft **** I've starting going to Asda now.

Sainsburys in our area (Chichester) is free and they have the cheapest petrol too!

Can confirm that it's free at Sainsbury's Canvey.

nice find

My Sainsburys (Beckton) have free air!
And petrol is cheaper:

Sainsburys 127.9p
Tesco 128.9p

Sure this thread is not just hot air?

It doesn't have to be free, however it is a nice gesture on their part. It is a bit like plastic bags when shopping, they don't need to be free but they do it to encourage you to buy more stuff. In the past they would offer it as an extra service so that you would head there in the first place.

That's cheap there is a local PETROL STATION than charge 50p and it on a timer,it's not like they rip us off with price of fuel

Great, thanks

No, just the air.

The Therapist

No, just the air.

keep up the therapy!

Rather pay 50p per tyre at tyre dealers for nitrogen inflation that keeps pressures better than compressed air

I don't like high pressure salesmen

Anyone know if it's free at Cheadle? Thanks.

its been this way for years

Lol i'd rather pay the money for the air to be honest. I turned up to my local sainsburys a couple of weeks back and was confronted by a queue of 6 cars.

Off I rode on meh ped.

That's good enough for most people - they make lots of money ergo anything they do to make even more (or stop something that loses them money) is pure, unadulterated evil.

Not sure what the OP means when he says "while it lasts". Sainsbury's Edinburgh Cameron Toll has recently got a new petrol station and includes the free air/water machines so there's obviously no plans to start charging soon. Heat added.

they also do free water (to clean tire dust off your hands when your done) too
