For that kind of money for in earphones I'd go with Sennheiser.
Personally if its got a name/gimmick like Skullcandy or Beats by Dr. Dre I avoid them as your paying for the gimmick or marketing over the product itself.

Thanks for the replies, will take a look at those suggestions, just hope it was
Sound she was interested in and not the fact it was beats.

Get the SoundMAGIC E10 (They've won the 'WHAT HI-FI? AWARDS' in 2012)

Just read this review (and many others like this on Amazon):

Have to agree with the other reviews here - these offer superb sonic … Have to agree with the other reviews here - these offer superb sonic performance for little money. For the last 4 years I've went through 3 pairs of Sennheiser CX300's which were pretty decent but on reading the reviews for the E10's on the web and the awards they've won thought I'd try sommat different. These blow the CX300's away with a much more rounded sound and great levels of bass at the bottom end. I've threw lots of different styles at em from ennio morricone to fatboy slim and at this price they cant be faulted. Build quality also looks much improved and the come with lots of different ear-buds plus a decent zippy carry case.Very impressed with these and amazed that they cost less than 50 quid. They have the look n feel of a more expensive headphone.

Dont forget these are just our opinions, if your partner is really into her brands, her friends have them ect ect you may be best to get her the beats, even tho many agree that there are many better options around she may be sold on the beats & nothing different will live up to expectation

very cheap

do these have the in built in mic and work with android phones ?

Anyone actually been sent theirs yet, no news and no way of tracking them on my order. First order with Groupon and i cant say im impressed.

Great deal, half the price of HMV/ Curries.
