Awesome deal OP, can't go wrong with beats.
I have to ask. Can the price of these be justified? I mean, I understand that audiophiles would say yes, but honestly for the technical aspect, it is litterally just plastic with two small speakers attached. I feel the same way about airpods. Is it just the brand you really pay for? Honest question.

It’s a valid question, there will be multiple comparisons you could make ie a Fiat vs Ferrari or Tesco vs Waitrose or sharpe tv vs Sony etc etc. In headphones I look for durability, good balance between all all ranges, good noise cancellation amongst other things. The beats and AirPods also connect to iPhones straight away too which is convenient

The audiophiles will absolutely say NO. The best headphones generally have a flat sound to them that reproduce music the way it was actually mixed. Beats by their nature over emphasise bass and you end up with a muddy lower mid range.

I own a pair of Sennheiser HD 600's (admittedly they are open back so not suitable for outside the house) which I got refurbished for a similar price to this deal but they're by far the best sounding headphones I've ever owned. I wouldn't touch Beats with a bargepole and to answer your question, yes you're paying for a name and the marketing that has gone behind it, just like airpods.

I dont really get what your saying, beats aside as generally they are seen as poor value are you asking if more expensive items can actually be better quality? the answer is an obvious yes.

Believe me, Beats isn't an audiophile brand. If you're serious about music, start with something like the Philips Fidelio X2HR or Audio Technica M40X, or as someone has already commented, the venerable Sennheiser HD600. Your ears will thank you. If you want that extra 10% and can stretch a lot further, start saving and work your way up to an Audeze.

Audiophiles won't say yes to beats

Maybe yes to Sony & Bose
