I'm sure this question has been asked before, but what channels can you access on these players? Do they allow you to view films and sports that might normally be subscription only? Any help appreciated as I am toying whether to buy one or not.

Well I have seen....ha, Kodi access every sporting event...sometimes takes a while to find a perfect stream but most of the time it's great.

Don't know about films but this is android, literally everything is accessible somehow.
I am tempted myself but might hold off until in case a better deal comes up.

No Bluetooth?
Thanks for this, been waiting for one that looks decent to come down below £35-40 with wifi etc, if you've ordered one, download the robocop ultimate repo....all 3pm football
Well....premier league anyhow
Looking at these boxes myself but don't know where to start there is so many different ones.

No Bluetooth?

yep..no bluetooth..what a shame
out of stock?
XBMC/Kodi will change your life.
or do you choose to have it shipped from China? as when I clivk n EU Price changes and says out of stock
How do you control this thing if the touchscreen doesn't exist? Hdmi CEC could work but be awkward imo...
I've already got a raspberry pi running kodi and chromecast so don't need it, but curious to understand what this is capable of...
Great price for an android box which will give you all the free movies,tv and sport you could ever hope to watch,I've saved a fortune over the last few years with an android box.Time to kick the cable and satellite companies where it hurts.

Are you able to elaborate as to why Bluetooth would be important? New to all this android box thing so would like to know what used this has. Thanks

Bluetooth keyboard...mouse...headphones....
This or a Fire Stick?

Anyone?
Bluetooth is not important for the working of the android box.The remote control has a mouse facility on it which will suffice
Am i missing something with Kodi, yes it gives you access to loads of streams. But its so clunky and bloated it makes paying sky seem a good deal

This, while the firestick is ok, the storage is very quickly used up and becomes laggy/unresponsive.

Bloated how? These pre-installed ones I have never used but installing it myself I just install Genesis and SportDevil and away I go.. No bloat or anything.
I know this doesn't have Bluetooth but I have a general question about these Andriod boxes, can you sync Andriod Wear / Fitbit / Microsoft Band devices to them if they do have Bluetooth like the normal phone?

Agree, Android is a world of freedom.

Um...no, it doesn't. Nothing makes paying Sky seem like a good deal.
Buy this, install The Beast, cancel Sky/Virgin. I run it all the time. Free movies, sport, tv shows and pay per view events. No brainer.

Rupert Murdoch needs that money you know. You can never have enough ivory backscratchers, ask Monty Burns.

THIS AND THIS.

Is it just me or does this look just like a Fire TV box?
This is using the Allwinner SOC.

AVOID

Edit: this one is using an Amlogic so you can have openelec running and linux gearbest.com/tv-…tml

I don't think Genesis is going to be supported any longer but developer is working on new 'addon'

this mate. I'd go for a android box all day long. you can side load kodi onto a firestick but why bother when you can get it straight from the PS on Android. ive got a £25 MX box and it plays everything I throw at it. movies and sports in HD without missing a beat.
Came across this too just before the New Year, was looking at a cheap 4K Android Box too (for possible future 'Future-Proofing' also ... )

For what it is, it looked very decent at the time too. :-)
I'd like to be able to plug in a USB hard disk and play music from it. Will this work for that? I can see it's easy to do with a NAS, but it would be nice to be able to play from a USB drive in the meantime.
I have one of these in the kitchen, bought about a month ago and there are a few things to be wary of:

Kodi does not launch by default so on first startup you're dropped in to an Android desktop. If you don't know what you're doing this can be somewhat disconcerting. I thought mine was broken and I know what I'm doing.
Updates are destructive, so do them before setting everything up. I learnt this the hard way.
Turn off hardware acceleration in Kodi if you want to be able to skip back and forth. With it on, the box crashes every time you skip back.
Half of the plugins don't work or are out of date.
There's no way I can find to upgrade the Kodi install so you're stuck on 14.2.
The remote control is nice but it has no transport controls, so you have to use the on screen ones.

Other than that this is fine little box for £20.

Any questions, let me know and I'll try when I get home.

Yes, it will do this fine.
the amlogic chips (802/812) are better. have to say was a bit apprehensive about buying one. as others has mentioned kodi with the beast/spartan repo added is a phenomenal addition to a home media setup.

I thoroughly recommend setting up kore as your remote for using it though, the ones supplied barely work
New to kodi. Just installed it on a fire stick. Which addons do I need? Installed 'theblackbox', any other suggestions
Much more than kodi

Not just for kodi but you would be wise to invest in 2gbRAM try the 168 box or the mxlv box WiFi is pretty useless, newer boxes boast 1000 LAN, Tronfy boxes are the most stable around the £50-£60 with Bluetooth 4 all you need is a mouse

these android boxes are sold promoting kodi films OK sports a little worse quality, but showbox for movies and TV is great .I use 4 boxes in the house streaming from my enigma2 satt box using the dramdroid app.
They are also connected to my nas drive.
use the soundseeder app that works like sonos(multiroom audio) just wire up all your old amps and speakers

AllI all Good price, for a first box
anyone in the uk sell these?
LeeJS

Yes, it will do this fine.

Thanks! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what app would I use for that?

Yes, Genesis has ceased development. Now using S.A.L.T.S (StreamAllTheSources) addon with PIA vpn and RealDebrid to access premium streams in 1080p with DD5.1 audio. Had some problems with URLresolver not updating automatically (had to download it manually and install from .zip), otherwise, working great.
