I think he was engaging in wordplay due to the fact that the photo is upside down and gravity also being alcohol related, but dont let that dizzy you on your 9am soapbox.

And your retort is a perfect example of an unnecessarily critical comment on what was actually a very smart post.

same price in both of my local asda's and online
Yeah spotted this while in Stoke-On-Trent a couple of days back so must be nationwide in store as well. Heat.

It's nationwide and it's permanent. Asda always have a small variable selection at £1, as do Morrisons. I should know as I buy them often.

Bishop's Tipple is a Wadworth beer, not Shepherd Neame - did you mistake it for Shepherd Neame Bishop's Finger?

Bishop's Tipple is 5.5% in bottles.
Hobgoblin Gold 4.5%
Pedigree 4.5%

Sorry just edited it to the correct name and bishops finger is 5.4%.

4.5% and 5.4% . Not rocket fuel but not weak .
Have some heat pal, quid a bottle is a good buy..
Had you already sampled a few bottles when you took the pic?

4,5% is plenty strong enough for me. 5.4% does me when I only want a couple! If it's anything like our local ASDA, they only put a couple of dozen or so bottles out at night; so if you don't get there fairly early in the morning they are all gone - I cleared the shelf of the last 5 bottles of Pedigree yesterday morning!

Strength of beer is directly proportional to its quality. A fact which, thankfully, few on this thread have forgotten.

Kidding. Heat.

I think it's a brewing reference. Otherwise I'm missing where the insult is

Not necessarily; I had a bottle of Brakespear's bitter which was very tasty and hoppy, but only 3.4%. I too was amazed.
Excellent price, I will stock up on a few of these beers, good call, heat added.
Whatever happened to the any four bottles of ale for a fiver deal in Asda?It seems to have disappeared.

That's abv, gravity in brewing is the density of the liquid, generally indicating how much sugar it contains, but I suspect in this case it's a joke about the picture being upside down.

No it doesn't, it means low sugar content which can only indicate strength if you know the starting gravity, OR a reference to the bottles appearing to hang upside down (or just being plain wrong if it wasn't a pun).
Great deal and was going to post myself but was beaten to it not by this post but the one on the 7th Jan
Is this the Australian Asda?

If that's some sort of insult it's wasted in me. I'm not the one making ignorant comments.
This was posted two weeks ago, good to know its still an on going offer. They dont stock any of these in our local Asda sadly. For me Bishops Finger and Pedigree are the picks of the selection, especially at this time of year. Gold is okay on a nice hot day.

Just sounds like we're cut from similar cloth. Tip of the cap, really.
Sorry for another technical question but......
Does the beer taste good, is it alcoholic and is it wet? If so it'll probably give me allow gravity. Thanks
