2 of my friends rate them they have had theirs for years. also gets great reviews

Nothing wrong with Beko over and above other washing machines - researching loads myself and the only thing that is reliable about washing machines is their guaranteed unreliability, regardless of make.

I have always preferred the John Lewis branded washing machines as they usually have a 3 year warranty and on special occasions a 5 year warranty thrown in.

Made by the same company that makes Zanussi (Electrolux) ranging in price from £299.

There's an offer on at the moment if you belong to the Co-op. I'll cut and paste a bit from the email.

"Take advantage of our amazing savings on a wide range of top brand electrical goods at The Co-operative Electrical - and enjoy an extra £20 off when you spend £250 or more before 31st August 2009."

Our expensive Hotpoint washer developed a fault after 2 1/2 years which was too expensive to repair. So i just bought a cheap Beko washer for around £200 expecting it not to last. Four years later and its been a brilliant machine and totally faultless. If it blew up tomorrow i've had my moneys worth.
I would deffo buy another one.

Hot for this.

working in a retailer which has a specialist department for such goods, i've heard/seen more than my fair share of returns/complaints etc. Beko are by FAR are the worst manufacturer that we have sold. I'm not saying Hotpoint, Indes*it, Zanussi are a lot better.....but brands such as Bosch and especially Miele will give you your moneys worth as a longer term investment.

Jimmy, you're right and obviously some Beko owners have been very lucky.

"Baby and Toddler programme"

That's an excellent idea!! I wonder if the "hand wash" programme on my machine would work on them too? I'll maybe test it on the cat first.
