BEKO 5kg Washing Machine for a crazy £145 brand new (CHEAPEST IN THE UK???)! @ RGB Direct

After years of using HUKD my first "share a deal"... basically, I was sharing a pint at my favourite Indian (in Arnesby, Leicestershire) and speaking about the economy (as you do!) and how things aren't all bad and the price of washing machines cropped up and agreed that approx £200 for one is absolutely fine for a basic one...

Then whilst searching for something completely unrelated I came across this amazing offer:

rgbdirect.co.uk/Pro…21W

This is the cheapest I have ever seen a brand new washing machine for, and there will be those who will knock the brand (they shouldn't as I know plenty who are totally happy with years of use!), so for those who are on a very tight budget, you can't go wrong! Go reserve (& collect) one whilst you can!

Great price, not had any problems with my Beko dishwasher, AA rated and totally silent. If their washing machines are of similar build then go for it.
Think you can get this for a little less at Bargain Crazy + 10% cash back...could be wrong mind still a good price.

I'm wrong once delivery is added it's more expensive.

You win, voted hot

You're not wrong there... in fact it is a better machine and price works out at £159.99 - 15% code (W15WG) posted officially by TopCashback = £135.99 + £19.95 delivery, so a total of £155.94... and TCB 10.1% of £13.73 would have made it a cracking £142.21... but its OUT OF STOCK :-( so RGB still have the upper hand at the moment!

Sod's law it was in stock a few mins ago lol
would rather pay the extra £35 as a 5kg load limit is pretty naff ( in my opinion ) unless you live alone. this one is a pretty good price with a decent load limit...................................argos.co.uk/sta…htm
anything less than 7kg load limit is really useless if you are a family of 3 or more.
still a decent price if you are in the market for a small washing machine. so for that i vote................................ hot
6kg version was £139 at tesco direct during boxing day sales! link

Sharing a pint? Couldn't afford one of your own? X)

No wonder you were talking about the economy... times must be bad!

Definitely was good... but RGB is not faffing about, just go and pick one up... no ClubCard points though
There is currently a 5kg Beko washer in the flat I rent, and tbh its rubbish, 5kg is not enough and the wash cycle lasts for ages (at least 90mins +), although it doesnt look that old, age could be the reason for this.
This price for a washer is crazy and great if you're on a budget, so voted hot!
If you have a bit extra cash i;d get something with a bigger load than 5kg and a fast spin etc....

Must be the way my mind works. But after reading the deal and all the comments the only thing I'm thinking about is going out for an Indian and a beer.

... me too, again
you'd probably save money in the long run with one with 8-9kg drum with energy saving functions, with energy prices so high

Having a day off doing chores etc and having fun with this thread - you are correct, but Bargain Crazy you need to add £20 delivery (and cannot collect) and Hi Spek is still more expensive... at the end of the day this deal remains the hottest for the moment
caloandrea

£139 at … £139 at PRCdirecthttp://www.prcdirect.co.uk/products/w-mh/washing-machines/washing-machines/free-standing/item/WMB51021W

Well spotted! I did check this morning before I posted and PRC were more expensive, so glad to see that I have caused a bit of a price war... it's interesting to note they are based in Ilford too, clearly the place to be for the cheapest washing machines in the UK ... but just an update if you call them, they actually don't have stock to pick up, but will glady take your £s in advance and then you can collect next week sometime... er I don't think so oO

You were very lucky as if it is deemed a large item @ £19.95 delivery (I just tried to purchase online to check this)... anyway, we all deserve a bit of good fortune at times

Wasn't doubting you James, well done for getting clearly what was an error on Bargain Crazy's check out system. If you try today it will only ever offer £19.95 delivery for any of their washing machines. I am simply pointing this out so that potential buyers don't get too excited only to find that that it's not the real bagain they envisaged. No doubt tomorrow "my" bargain find will be old hat
Surprised no one has tried to knock the brand yet - the uninformed usually do. Beko are budget AND good quality/reliability according to Which? users; up there with the likes of Bosch at a much lower price.
Good price, dont need a washing machine but if you need a budget one this is a great offer

Ditto, ditto and ditto!
God these things are dreadful, really just don't touch anything Beko. I've been there, never again. They are cheap for a good reason
You get what you pay for with these things.

Couldn't agree more. Had a Beko cooker in a rented military property - it was absolute rubbish, ended up chucking it in the garage and buying our own. Not an 'uninformed' opinion, but one drawn from first-hand experience!

First hand experience is always good to hear... we've been purchasing real Christmas trees (dropless varierty) from the same local nursery for the past 10 years. They grow their own, not cheap, but we've always been very happy, however, after 3 days last early December, it started to drop needles by the 1000... we know how to "look after" real trees, but nothing could be done to stop the rot... went back to the nursery and as they put it "...with the volumes we sell there is bound to be a rogue one or two and you were the unlucky one" and gave us a new one without question which was great up until a few days ago. I would certainly purchase from them again and hope we were just unlucky... this applies to most puchases, whether they be trees, car or Bekos

"Blimey, this Beko cooker is made of tin-foil, the ceramic coating is wearing through, the door hinges are loose and the element has packed up after 4 months. I know, I'll go and buy another one!"
Beko and Indesit/Hotpoint are pure rubbish!

You are entitled to your opinion, its a free country... I too personally wouldn't have touched Beko (or a Kia car for that matter!) with a barge pole 5 years ago, and if I had enough £s (most don't) I would undoutedly buy superior stuff, but £340 million of sales in the UK just last year has to say something about the company (Arcelik)... they build ok stuff and the "quiet" majority of people are happy... thank goodness the brand exists, otherwise it would be back to the washboard and camping stove for many oO

Have to say I do lament the loss of Hotpoint to Indesit, the latter who, in my opinion too, are no better than Beko on the lower end of white goods

Another 'shoot from the hip' prejudiced view. The FACT is that Beko reliability is up there with better brands like Bosch (that is not best but upper half of the table). Hotpoint, on the other hand, has been quite poor for ages. Just check out Which? custome feedback for starters.

Perhaps I was being a little diplomatic to those who don't know that Hotpoint is owned by Indesit, thinking I am knocking the once good British brand... the name exists, that all, its certainly not the premium brand of Indesit, just them relying on people to buy a name instead of Beko et al (my mum has a new Hotpoint fridge, having had an old browny coloured one for 20 years. the "replacement" is so cheaply built that I worry that the shelves will break soon)... I would never have started this thread if didn't believe in the ok quality of Beko, who I agree can at times be as good as a premium brand such as Bosch at half the price (my sister bought a trendy black frost free fridge freezer for £240 14 months ago, quiet, reliable and seemingly cheap to run, so can't knock it... and it's Beko!). The washing machine of this thread is still available, so go for it!
On another Beko related point: their fridge/freezers are the only ones guaranteed to work down to minus 15 ambient. If you keep your freezer in a garage, shed or other cold place you may notice your produce thaws in very cold weather (seems odd that but it's true). Two winters ago when it got exceptionally cold this happened to our old machine in an (integral) garage so we swoped it for a Beko. Quieter too!
