Beko...branded?

Well I was thinking exactly the same but real life facts saying something else.

At work we have 6x Beko (lowest range) products. Three dishwashers and three under counter fridge freezers. All of them 5 years old. All works without any problems (never been repaired or serviced in any kind of way). Obviously no one cares about them.
My mate got some Beko fridge in garage - only God knows how old it is as he bought it second hand couple of years ago) - no problem at all with it.
Another mate also got Beko fridge freezer (age unknown) in rented house (belongs to landlord) - never had any problems in last 4 years.
I've got Beko built in "top range" dishwasher - works great, no problems at all.

On the other side - my Hotpoint fridge freezer died after couple of years. Samsung fridge freezer started to be noisy just aster the same period of the time as the other died.

I personally don't see any point of spending fortune on the white goods, especially Fridge freezer - once is going to brake after warranty period you'll have two options.

Expensive one:
Take the day off from work.
Wait for someone to show up and hopefully diagnose the problem.
Wait for spare parts.
In the mean time throw away all of the defrosted food - usually worth couple of hundred quid.
Once is fixed pay another couple of hundred for this repair.
Keep praying for successful repair that will last a while.
If not repeat the whole procedure.

Cheap option
Buy not to expensive fridge freezer.
Once broken go to one of the merchants who offers next day delivery.
Buy it.
Transfer food once delivered.
Most of the merchants collects old one for free or small fee.
From the money you saved buy yourself some beer/wine/whiskey and enjoy the rest of the day.

For some reason a lot of people choose expensive option plus even more expensive insurance - for example ao.com tried to offer one for £7.50/month - no thanks.
After 5 years it will cost £450 - which is MOORE than the fridge freezer itself.

Fair doos...I just remember when you had cheap...really cheap....then Beko.
Not to criticize them, they have always punched well above their weight and certainly aren't poor quality products.
I guess it's like a lot of stuff that starts cheap then gets a good reputation.

It was just funny to see it called a brand name.

Nearly bought the 6"4 fridge/freezer on here the other day due to incredible volume but realized my fridge/freezer still works unfortunately.
Got a beko tumble drier and it's been dog poo. Tank Overflowed and ruined kitchen floor and living room carpet. Light cover inside had cracked and come off twice too needing replacing.
Keep well clear of Beko, I wish I had. I purchased a tumble dryer, fridge freezer and a dishwasher. The tumble dryer started to smoke and almost caught on fire, the dishwasher pump went after 18 months, the fridge freezer is still working after 2 years but is so noisy.
Currys do a stainless ken wood for £499 it's a much better looking fridge IMO
I have had good experience with Beko, their freezers are designed to work in garages and cellars where as a lot of the big brands are not.

which one was the 6'4" that you mention? I can't see it.
We've not long bought a Kenwood American style fridge from Currys. We only paid £370 for ours thanks to a couple of discount codes floating around at the time we ordered (around six weeks ago) Nice fridge, better made than a Beko in my opinion despite being made in China, assumed it would be a re-branded Beko or Vestel but its not.
can this be uitlised too?

Also try TENNEROFF for, well..£10 off.
We have had a Beko standard side by side tall Fridge and Freezer for the last 10 years or so.
Still going strong.
Well done Beko, i know where my next purchase is going (_;)

You might want to do a Google search on "BEKO Fire Recall". Like the bit about "Almost half a million of the same model were sold across the UK between 2000 and 2006. There remains a very real risk from these appliances - with almost 80,000 potentially still in use. The inquest that ended today revealed how Beko did not recall its freezers despite knowing there were dangers."

So, no, I don't think that I'll buy white goods from BEKO.
I nearly bought this last month from AO but decided to view one in Curry's, lucky I did. The doors are weird, it has a step at just before closing, I'm assuming it's to avoid bounce back? But I don't like it like that, I like a smooth door opening and closing without this step. I find it weird and don't want it.
Grrrrrrrrrrr

Every manufacturer does a silly mistake, don't see a problem with that plus the fact that it was ages ago....
Agree with that door step weird thing can't slam it Packed depth 78cm so make sure you take your door off;)
