Cold not ugly enough.
the handle looks like an upside down smiley ...
Good price for a condenser tumble dryer I think
or a pale Thomas the tank engine face
Are these the ones that have the safety trouble of overheating and could set on fire
Beko has said the fault only exists in condenser tumble dryers produced between May and October 2012. To find out if you have been affected, you need to check the serial number.

Doubt they would sell them without first being rectified, just check no. when it arrives to be sure

I have one too but have a problem with cleaning it, the filter seems to let quite a bit of fine dust or whatever through which is a pain in the **** to get out of the tight corners, means I have to get on my hands & knees with a toothbrush to clean it's insides after heavy use. Wouldn't buy another.
Think this is the same model I bought about 6 months ago, not sure but looks like it. I've been really pleased with it, would happily recommend

Had no idea about the possible safety issue thanks for that, will check mine later.
We have this tumble dryer and are very happy with it (ours was £169 from VERY). Ours is affected by the possible faulty component but Beko have been very quick to mail out and our repair is being carried out tomorrow.

The 8Kg version of this dryer was a WHICH? Best Buy. So this is essentially the same machine just a 1kg smaller load. For the money its a great condenser dryer.
Does it come with a complimentary fire extinguisher?
I got the DCU8230 (the 8kg version) from Dixons in August 2011 for £214.
The only downside is that it doesn't have a specific heat adjustment setting - though people reckon that some specific cycles (like shirts) are cooler than others. Otherwise great machine!
Best buy.Really pleased with mine and energy efficient B. Finally my clothes are bone dry and smell fantastic.

i bought one just now.
i always thought condenser dryers are supposed to be a bit naff and don't dry properly. I take it this is not the case anymore, as peeps hgere seem fairly happy wiith this one? how long should a normal 5kg load take to dry .....90mins?
Which? review:

The Beko DCU7230S condenser tumble dryer is a step up from entry-level dryers and is available for around £300. Our tests show it's good at keeping hot damp air inside the machine, though it is a tad noisy. Is this a niggle you should forgive it for? Our full review reveals whether this Beko tumble dryer is worth buying.

IMPORTANT: Beko has issued a safety notice about this dryer, here is Beko's statement:

*******

Over the last few weeks Beko has been made aware of a small number of incidents involving our 6kg & 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryers manufactured from May 2012 to October 2012.

Following a thorough investigation we have identified a potential batch issue with a third party supplied capacitor, which can fail and overheat, leading to a potential risk of fire.

Although the risk of failure is low, the safety of all our products is Beko's highest priority and, as a responsible manufacturer, we have decided to initiate a voluntary corrective action program as a precautionary measure.

Our retail partners have been extremely supportive of our efforts and are providing us with contact details of affected owners in order for us to arrange an in-home product modification as soon as possible.

We will be launching our safety notice advertising campaign tomorrow, 29th November 2012 in national and regional press to generate further awareness.

For further information please visit dryersafety.beko.co.uk or call our customer care centre on free phone 0800 917 2018

For the models not affected by the above fault, this is a good tumble dryer with only a couple of drawbacks - like the racket it makes when it's tumbling your clothes. However it will not serve you as well as a Best Buy tumble dryer.
What is it?

Despite its lower price tag, it has some nice extra features such as sensor drying and a child lock to stop mischievous little ones from tampering with the settings. There's also a delay start timer that will let you delay by up to nine hours and a light in the drum to make sure you scoop out all your dried clothes, not just most of them.

This dryer's 7kg capacity is big enough for most homes and its range of features makes it suited to young families and those who want a bit more functionality than the bog-standard dryer.

As it's a condenser dryer, the moisture from your laundry will be collected into a water reservoir that'll need emptying each time it fills. Alternatively, you can attach a supplied hose to a water waste pipe to drain the water directly - saving you from having to empty the reservoir yourself.

This dryer is available in white (DCU7230W), silver (DCU7230S) and black (DCU7230WB), giving you a bit of freedom to find the right colour dryer for your home - though you may have to pay more for the silver and black versions.
What's it great at?

All the drying programs are faster than the average tumble dryer - a full load of cottons takes almost exactly two hours.

If you use the iron-dry setting - which delivers your laundry slightly damp for easier ironing - you'll find the clothes are all dried evenly - so you shouldn't find any wet socks or crispy shirts lurking in your ironing pile.

Its large opening means it's easy to load and the lint filter is easy to find and clean.

This Beko is excellent at making sure the hot damp air from your laundry ends up in the reservoir and does not escape, saving your home from developing a sweaty sheen when the machine's in use.
Is there anything I should watch out for?

The biggest problem with this dryer is the sound it makes. You'll want to have conversations somewhere where this dryer isn't, so make sure you can seal this dryer away behind a door.

Your shirts coming out of the synthetics dry cycle will be quite creased and will need some attention from an iron, but it's not the worst we've seen.

There is no time-remaining display, so unless you use the timed drying option, it'll be a guessing game as to when your clothes will be dry.
Should I buy it?

First and foremost, if you are considering buying this dryer you need to make sure it has not been affected by the safety fault listed above.

To find out if this dryer is one of the models that has a dodgy component that could lead to a risk of fire, you can go to dryersafety.beko.co.uk to enter the serial number, or call Beko on 0800 917 2018 or 1800 25 29 25 in Eire. See the note at the top of the review for more information.

If you are confident the model you are considering has not been affected, this dryer does represent good value for money, though it is noisy and superior models are available. Use our compare features and prices tool to find to help search for your next tumble dryer.

Pros: Speedy drying times, evenly dried clothes, easy to use

Cons: Very noisy, leaves shirts quite creased, no time remaining display

The world's a really scary place isn't it?
Is this ok for being put in a garage?

You will remember to look both ways when you cross the road won't you...?
Eww Beko. Stat away from Beko stuff.
I've had a Beko washer and condensor dryer for a couple of years.

Sensor drying isn't the best, as most loads typically need an extra 20 mins once it stops, but on the whole it's been superb.

Only cost £150 as well. Yes there have been issues in isolation with Beko products, but you can say the same about things made by most manufacturers.

Beko tend to be right at the cheapest end of cheap, but I'd rate them higher than any other manufacturer I've had stuff from in that bracket, including the likes of Hotpoint and LG.

Condensor dryers are OK to put anywhere, without the need for plumbing. A garage would be perfect as you won't have to put up with the noise.
put the cloths on the radiator it drys quicker.

The £25 vouchers dont work. One requires a credit account and the other is invalid (after 30 mins of googling it appears that code doesnt work for electricals). If yours worked (and you dont have a credit account) i'd be grateful if you could let me know the code

Also - very.co.uk is a horrible site - just wasted an hour trying to set up a new non credit account. Wouldnt allow me through without signing the credit option.

Fair enough but you need a dryer for clothes .
is it healthy to dry clothes on the radiator.
I have the 8kg version of this and it is fab. Would highly recommend. Gives off wonderful heat for the kitchen (great in winter) but no steam. Love it

" Condensor dryers are OK to put anywhere, without the need for plumbing. A garage would be perfect as you won't have to put up with the noise "

THIS ONE IS VERY QUIET :-)
I remember reading that its best not to go for a condenser in a garage, just googled and here is the first result I got.

fantastic price for condenser dryer (no pipe at back) especially good price for a B energy rating. usually should be twice the price.

if i had the money and my dryer broke i would definately buy this

What code did you use and how did you get free delivery? Otherwise its £196.94-25 = £171.94

(33XKJ appears to work once you create a credit account, but still allows you to pay by Visa/Visa Debit and get the £25 off, i.e. You need to do a credit check/create credit account, but you can still pay by normally at the checkout, doesn't appear to be any free delivery codes though)

How I did it:
Tried entering the code without creating a credit account initially and said it was invalid. Created account, then allowed me to enter code, then paid by Visa rather than Account. £25 off was shown on confirmation invoice.

just come home to letter from Beko warning of heating issue on my dryer (above model is on danger list too.) When I called hotline I was told not to use and a local engineer would be in touch within 'the next week or so'.

In the middle of the winter and I am back draping undies around the house - hot for the deal, cold for the effin' inconvenience...

I'd say use it - but don't go out with it on. Actually that's good advice for ANY heating appliance.

Good advice (missus had already threatened to castrate me if 'I thought she was going to go without dryer for more than a day')
