Beko the ones that burst into flames...

I wouldn't waste good money on a Beko. They're crap.

Is that from your experience? Or your perception without any evidence?

I am a landlord and I use this model a lot. May be 6 so far since 2008. Never had any issue. Never needed warranty claims or insurance!

At home, I have a Bosch and it broke down after just 2 years!

Heat from me!

The Beko frost free fridge freezer models affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006.

You're about 8 years too late!

refsafety.beko.co.uk

We bought one of the models involved in the recall, ours didn't need to be modified as it was manufactured in late 2007. We received a couple of phone calls about this and Beko were on the ball. As for our fridge, we still have it after 7ish years and its been fine and far from "Crap" lol

Having had an American fridge freezer before, be aware that in the freezer part you have mostly shelves, not drawers. So you end up pulling the contents out of a shelf to get to the what you want at the back.
I see that this one has only 2x drawers...
But it is a good price for such a FF

What is the energy usage like on the beko compared to mainstream brands though?

F/F can cost ALOT to run

Council house / buy to let / pay on the never never sort of rubbish is Beko.

Functional perhaps but crap nevertheless.

some real snobs commenting on this deal, try reading some reviews before making passing comments, and Beko is a mainstream brand in the UK when it comes to kitchen appliances...

exactly why is this a crap product?

Manufacturer’s guarantee 1 year - should be at least 3!

Not the best, according to this: sust-it.net/ene…=50

53rd out of 67 rated.

That said, the actual annual running cost is lower than some on these. But the Beko is lower capacity so has a higher running cost per litre of storage.

At least it's not a plumbed in one. Friend has one of those. While it's never actually broken down, the plumbing into has leaked and ruined his floor at least once ....

really,

They made tumble dryers in 2012 that caught fire as well as the fridges in 2000-2006

And gas cookers that leak carbon monoxide in 2012 and 2013

itv.com/new…es/

recalluk.com/lat…spx

Think it's best to just avoid a company that has such a poor safety record.

Seems they learnt nothing from the fridges, and are still making dangerous products: so I certainly wouldn't have one of their products in my home. Each to their own though

Totally agree. The safety record of Beko ain't good. Let's just hope the Turkish brand have no more dangerous appliances and they have upped their game. I seen the carbon monoxide on there ovens on TV the other day...tragic.
Personally I would buy something with a better safety record.

True. Hopefully the links you provided will help some see sense.

I had a samsung american FF, had to repair it after 3 years just outside warranty, then it broke again. Samsung are better at phones/tv's. The LG ones have the best reliability according to Which.
