Beko Washing Machine - A++ 7kg 1300 spin - Currys £189

I have been looking all morning for a washing machine & this is the best price I can find for a washing machine outside of the basic 5kg 1000 spin bracket.

I will be buying it this afternoon unless someone points me in a better direction for under £200.

(edit: 11pm - just bought it with 2% quidco)

lol - That was fridges wasnt it?

And then you have Bosch, Seimens & Neff Dishwashers

Looks like a good buy, if you want a longer warranty, check out the Zanussi ZWH6120P at John Lewis for £234

I would buy buy a premium brand if I had the money right now but I havent.

Ideally I would like a 1600 spin to save on the cost/time of drying but unfortunately its out of my price range & our washing machine is bust.

Thanks for the help/info though.

I ordered this yesterday from Ao.com for 229£, just called them and showed them this and they refunded the difference saving me 30£.

Saved me 30£ OP, Thanks!

No probs. That is what this site is all about. 4 hours I spent looking this morning..

This could get hot :-)

Should get a free smoke detector in case it catches fire.

Hello. The only one I could find was £180 delivered for a HOMEKING by Beaumatic. But it's only 1000 spin and 5kg although has a 2 year guarantee. So I would say this is a great buy. There was a BEKO on here from HOMEBASE DIY for £150 delivered but was not the same spin as this one. That offer has gone now too.

LOL, only if you switch it on!

Maybe 40£?

Correct, £40 it is. My mistake!

How the world has changed when people will happily pay £500 plus for an overpriced phone and then opt for sub par £200 washing machines.

I have a samsung galaxy mini (£55) & a sonim (£150) to take out when I am working if needs be but may end up on ebay.

The funny thing is all those talking about fire hazard might want to keep in mind it was gas ovens, fridge freezers & tumble driers that Beko had a problem with. Which was far less of a cost to them than the £900 million it is costing Bosch to refit the control panels on the hundreds of thousands of dishwashers they sold over a 4 year period that have actually burnt peoples houses down but people are willing to spend double the amount on a washing machine etc because they trust the "brand". lol

Only fridges, gas ovens and tumble dryers? You've just highlighted more than half the appliances in the kitchen. I think the problem with Beko was they knew there was a problem and ignored the advice from the fire brigade who were attending fires caused by them and only did something about it when people were dying. That's far more of a cost than any monetary value, so for that reason alone they are not deserving of anyone's money.

And you think Bosch/seimens/neff were not fully aware of the danger their faulty control panels were causing some months/years before they launched a replacement program 2 years ago last summer for products manufactured between 1999-2005?

lol

I'm not sure why you keep bringing them into it as I am not defending their actions either and are simply replying to a topic about Beko. I dare say a Siemens washing machine would outlast a Beko three to one anyway (and has a warranty five times better), so over the longer term buying a cheap machine is false economy. I get that some people will buy it because it is cheap and a sign of the Primani disposable generation that we live in, but when I am sticking in hundreds of pounds of clothes into a drum several times a week, I'd rather have something that offers better performance and longevity.

No. I agree with you. However, Bekos response time on recall was far shorter than the 10+ years it took Bosch to get going on their 600,000+ fire hazards they had. Also they recalled in America 2 years before the UK & Europe which kind of makes me think it may have been a financial choice of theirs to delay (or put off) recalls our side of the atlantic.

By the way Bosch/Siemens/Neff all have the same parts because they are technically the same organisation when it comes to white goods. bsh-group.co.uk

Also a few months into the recall they palmed the repairs off to comet (which went bust, as you know), which I know for a fact was poorly managed by Comet & people may well have had the repair done by supplying the customer with another faulty part which may indeed burn their houses down. And yes, I did email Bosch & inform them of that fact.

And yes....... I do know what I am talking about. Looks to me from your response that Bosch have better PR people than Beko. That is all.

I got the 1500 spin version of this a few weeks back and its an excellent machine. The last two machines I had were zanussi, and neither lasted 3 years doing 2 washes a week. The reviews on beko looked good so lets see, only time will tell.

No thank you glass on my one smashed all over kitchen floor after 2months

I have a Beko washing machine and a Beko Tumble Dryer. The Dryer is about 8 years old and never had one problem with it and the washer is 3 years old and haven't had a problem so far.

Ive had the beko bsdic one about 6 years, still running perfect. I might uograde to a bigger drum my lifes just that exciting haha

Seen these in currys and we need all the kitchen appliances due to getting our first house, just wish they was the silver ones.

I bought the same model the last time Curry's reduced the price . Within a week it went back up to £320 .Excellent washer . Can do a basic wash in 30 mins , many new washers cannot . It's very quiet too . Good buy .

I dont work for Beko lol

I did work on behalf of Bosch though replacing up to 8 control panels on their dishwashers a day. To be fair to them they did put some effort into it but no one can tell me they are a more responsible manufacturer than Beko whilst taking over 10 years to start rectifying a problem they must have had """""indications""""" of many years beforehand. lol

Have a very similar model to this one, which was in Asda last christmas for £180. Great machine.

Pay £600 for Samsung/LG/Dyson, if they last for 5 years they will be 32.8 pence per day

Pay £189 for a Beko, if it lasts 2 year its 25.8p per day.....

All I can say is, I inherited my girlfriend's Beko and after my trusty 21 year old Servis, I'm not happy with it.
The wash cycles take AGES !
I wash everything with the "fast wash" button pressed, if the cycle allows it.

And the worst of it is.
I gave my Servis away last week and the Beko stopped working yesterday.

I've had this one for nearly a year now and has been fantastic had not one issue with it at all just wish I'd paid £180

Which reports this as 3 out of 5 stars for cleaning cotton and synthetics

Had this machine for 2 years. Great machine. Great price. HOT.

Ordered this afternoon as our washing machine broke this weekend! Thanks OP!

yeah

we can all brag about our appliances that are 20 years old & never have given up............ However those same appliances probably cost you 20 times as much in electric to do the same job & you could have an brand new xk8 with the money you would have saved........ but it is ok..... you have your 21 year old service lol
