Cheap, but really not that reliable from reviews. Probably worth spending 30-40 extra and getting a Tricity Bendix from John Lewis

Yes, good price, but it's a very poor washing machine. Wouldn't buy it if it was a tenner. Spend a bit more and buy a Zanussi or Bosch (or spend WAY more and buy a Miele)

cheap but useless so ultimatly a waste of money

These were onl £169 at Currys for around a year, terrible machine that takes a few hours to do a wash cycle. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Any of you lot kicking the washing machine used it?

I have this, its model WMA510 I think, bought from Coop Electrical 5 months ago for £160ish. Its used 3 or 4 times a week as we are a young couple no kids etc. Its fastest wash cycle is 140mins (2h20m) on a 40 wash with 3 rinses. There is a 30o 45 minute program which basically washes the smells out of clothes and is nice and quick. Its not exactly quiet but what washing machine isnt.

A belt came loose inside and it started knocking. One quick call to the guarantee number and an appointment was organised and the bloke who turned up was friendly and helpful and nothing else has happened since.

Maybe it isnt right for a big family who use it everyday perhaps as yes the quality may show through then, but for someone in my position, where money is also a consideration, its cheaper and easier than going to a launderette!

Abit of support for Beko from me, I have a great frost-free freezer from them, top notch, also a dryer. Both were very gd prices when purchased.

If on a budget buy it with a CC that offers extra years warranty for free...

£160 can be false economy, if it packs up after the usual standard 12 months, then most of the time you are going to have to replace with like for like, so thats you upto £320 at least.

We had a Bosch for not much over £200 and 2 yr warranty plus the extra year with CC.

Last year got a Siemens for mid 300's and came with 5yr warranty as standard

Dont know what this Beko is like, but i have a Beko wma1512s eco care washer, that cost me 180 from B&Q. I've now had it over 3 years and its been trouble free, it also has economy settings and short wash cycles so its very economic. So i rate this make of washers.

"Its not exactly quiet but what washing machine isnt. "

That is not true nowaday. We got a Hotpoint Aqualtis 8kg washer. It is so quiet you can hardly tell it is on.

Its cheap cause its BEKO!!!

I got a Hotpoint Aqualitis also , cost me almost £500 at the time if i recall , i love the big drum , great machine , even though i dont have a family its great for me washing duvets etc ...i think for items like this its worth paying a bit extra , i wouldnt want a flood or going wrong in just a year or 2....some washing machines have also been a course of a house fire ...but they say you shouldnt leave a washing machine on when u go bed or if u go out

beko is a **** make very cheap and nasty i had a beko tv years ago was always going wrong, and when it comes to your washing u need to buy wisely and get a descent make or u will be paying for a call out guy all the time.

I also have no idea about washing machines.

I'm looking to buy a new one for my house and came across this one:

uk.lge.com/pro…tml

It says it saves money but using steam. Now don't get me wrong like you all on here its all about saving money but is it really worth getting one which supposedly saves you money? Its a 9kg washing machine so pretty big but the price tag is about £600.

Is that too much to pay for a washing machine? Can anyone recommend a good washing machine? I will pay up to £600 as like already mentioned, if you buy cheap you'll only be replacing it in a year which is not worth it.

Would it be better putting this into a misc thread to discuss about washing machines or is it ok to sit here?

I would reccommend LG. Had my 7kg load A+ rated machine for 6 years and not a thing go wrong (touch wood). Mine came with a standard 5 year guarantee but I am unsure if they still do. If it does it shows confidence in the product!

With your initial cost have to look at savings in efficiency, electricity and water, over time this will start to pay you backt. With your model the load capacity means you should, as I have done be able to wash duvets saving on costs there.

My other suggestion would be Bosch (I have a fridge and freezer) and again go for A+ or A++ to save money. I think they have 2 year guarantees.

Hope this helps.

It always amazes me that people have to say first post be kind ' don't shoot the messenger' etc and it even worries me that people post deal because they are worried about what people will say !

Please have the courage to say what you like without worrying about the comments of inconsiderate members who i'd rather were not on here if they cannot be helpful to other members. There is no need to be arsey towarsd others, if you don't think it's a good deal just kindly say why not !

rubbish washer will breakdown once it gets out of its warranty, get a better brand of machine

Yeah many thanks. Have some rep

I do like the LG washing machine. Having a 5 year warranty would be great and the fact you have gone 6 years without a fault is brilliant. Hopefully in might get reduced by a £100 but I doubt it

I bought a Beko off comet auction site, it wasn't very good quality. (BTW I have a Beko fridge/freezer and have used Beko stuff abroad on holiday.) It had plastic paddles fixed onto the steel drum, one of these broke off when washing, they were only held on with a few plastic lugs. I sent it back and got a refund. I decided to buy a Bosch instead.

The Bosch came with a two year warantee and is a much better built machine. It has a drum with welded steel paddles and completes a wash in about an hour - very pleased with it. It didn't cost any more (from the auction site, I got a good price), but even new I think the Bosch are a reasonable price.

Get a Miele. They're expensive, but a lot of them come with a 10 year warranty at the moment.

I too had a Beko. It never went wrong but I sold it when I moved house. It washed ok. We have since brought a new Seimens for £500. Had it 5 months and wouldn't look back,. It came with a 5 year warranty as standard. A great machine, quiet and even has a 15 min wash cycle. Also it's A rated.

This Beko is good for a budget or very low use. I would recommned paying a bit more and getting better quality. But if you're after a cheap machine then this is for you.

DON'T BUY BEKO! The worst brand ever.

I bought an Indesit (W103, I think) for £165 six years ago and it has only just expired on me. I've never had to have it fixed/repaired. They may cost a little more now, but might be worth a look if you have a limited budget.

have a tumble dryer by them the belt has snapped twice in 12 months. ****. Avoid.

I had an Indesit. Lasted nearly 10 years! brilliant

I am sorry but have to vote this cold as its Beko. I had huge problems with my Beko washing machine in Jan after having it for nine months it decided to make a noise and engineer came out and said that he had to order new parts 3wks later they had sent the wrong parts from Turkey. As it had past the 21days we were told we could choose another machine and went for Hoover instead.

I have a fridge freezer from Beko and its brilliant so not all there stuff is bad
