DESCRIPTION
Beldray Halogen Heater - 1200W.

Infrared or radiation heaters work by directly heating the molecules that they come into contact with.

The heaters are set to a particular wavelength, which heat the molecules in your body when the direction of the unit is facing you.

This works in a similar way to the sun; it makes you feel warm when its rays shine on you but cooler when you move into the shade.

Infrared heating is a very effective method of heating, as it directly heats the individual rather than just the air around them.

Features:

1200W power
3 heat settings - 400W/800W/1200W
Overheat protection
Thermal cut-out device
Portable with carry handle
Tip over switch
Wide angle oscillating function
Innovative design allows halogen tube replacement
Carry handle to make moving easier

They used to a decent brand back in the day.

I think the name lives on even though its not the original company
Great for lighting up a room, useless for heating it I'm afraid.
Last two that I had burned out fairly quickly.
Burnt out after several uses, junk!

2004/5 Administration and revival I recall, the Beldray name and others were bought by another company, I'll source it.

EDIT: Martin Yaffe International bought it, then sold off the Homeware division (& itself went into admin 2010 owing £25 million) Ultimate Brands (Russell Hobbs, Salter, Intempo, HoMEDICS) bought it

I had no heating, was left without (I have oil central heating, gas was going to cost me over £8000 just to get it to my house) for 2 months over winter, have a halogen heater like this one listed and its a joke!

I needed something with a timer that I can leave unattended without burning the house down

Oil is the second cheapest after mains gas ? Get it fixed, £8K to get a gas pipe LOL

    Edit:
Table of heating costs in the average home
    Mains Gas – 4p / kWh
    LPG Gas – 7.5p / kWh
    Heating Oil – 6p / kWh
    Bottled Gas – 14p – 32p / kWh
    Electricity – 15p / kWh

it is fixed, now, various factors lead to being left without central heating over winter, my nextdoor neighbour has gas but the connection has to come from the main and it was going to cost me £8k +, I thought they were having a laugh, but no, so oil central heating is my next best option.
