Been waiting for these to go down, will have a look locally

They were down to £12 last week in my local I'm guessing if any left they would have reduced again..

but afan uses much more elec as it runs constantly - a convector gets the room up to temp then the thermostat turns it off until it needs to come on again. great heaters.

Energy usage between both to get to the room to a set temperature would be no different, fans use barely any energy either. Fan heaters have thermostats on too generally.

Bargain if you can get one. Convector heaters are far better at heating a whole room. Fan heaters not only make noise but blow heat in the direction it is facing while the rest of the room is either cold or takes ages to warm up. The metal on these convectors is very thin and will dent very easily. Mine last about a year before they give up, like the thermostat going, but you just throw them away and buy another.

the oil heaters are very cheap to run and very warm too

Still got mine on in May!!!!

had them in cannock and rugeley wilkos on 01/5, this one and the halogen heater

No stores in NI, no delivery option, cold....

All of the energy used to move the fan is converted into heat. Fan or not both are 100% efficient.
The only difference is the distribution of heat.

Oil heaters are only cheaper to run if they produce less heat. It's a myth that they're more efficient, as ashleypride says. And they only give out heat after they've been switched off because they don't produce heat as soon as they are switched on.

Dont vote cold on the basis you can't get hold of one, its a good price.

any company would go bust after making such a deal Nationwide.

Just in time for UK Summer. Heat.

I find oil rads far better too. Used both and find you get far more heat due to oil heating up. Not all to do with electricity.

Completely wrong I'm afraid. What heats the oil up - magic?

Eh? It's called clearing stock - and they will have a limited amount. They will make far more money selling other stuff in the space this took up than having it standing around for six months not selling at full price.

Complete rubbish. The site is for deals that are available within the UK, and nowhere is there a rule that states this means everywhere in the UK. It is full of threads about in-store things which some people may be hundreds of miles away from, but they are still deals to those within reach. Why does it so often seem to be people from Northern Ireland who kick up a fuss about this, when people from, say, Northern Scotland, are quite happy to accept that things available only in Southern England are deals, even if they might be 500+ miles away? Some Northern Ireland residents really seem to have a massive chip on their shoulders. You can bet that if it were available in Northern Ireland only you wouldn't be voting it cold!

If you took the time to read the T&Cs of the site you would know this:

...which does not say they have to be available throughout the UK, does it?

As your interpretation of how this site works appears to differ from almost everyone else's, shouldn't you pause and reflect on that?
