At £7.99 this would be a great deal. At this price its a tad expensive considering the beers of offer.

no idea if this is a good deal or not as the image on their site doesn't show clearly what they are
So just the 50% price increase heat 🔥
These were available in Lidl NI a few weeks ago. Picked up a box then. I've had 2 so far, both delicious. Most around 10% alcohol 🥴
Had these last year, srsly nice beers!
if it's the same beers in th ebox the last couple of times I've bough them it's great, one I wasn't too keen on, but rest were really nice, certainly couldn't tell they were that strong, well worth buying.

thanks for the heads up

Doesn't look like anyone's gonna tell us either!
Assuming they are 500ml each then it's a £4.00 per litre hipster mug buy. If you want Belgian beer in Lidl then you are better off buying big bottles of Hoegaarden or Leffe
Voted hot - piraat, goulden draak, bornem for anyone unsure on the blurriness (top tip, you might be blurry after even one of these 330ml bottles as at least two of em are 10.5% abv)

these are cheaper than leffe or hoegaarden in terms of abv
Have some heat !
these are seriously good beers that comprise of dubbel and tripel - from memory the lowest abv is a 7 or 8 - so you are paying a very good price for some decent ale.
they sell piraat in a restaurant in Florida for 7.50 Greens a bottle - so to get it for 2 sterlings is next level
They did used to be 8.99 though - so they creeping up in price fo sho
These were £11.99 in my Lidl last year. I purchased because I'd enjoyed Piraat on holiday. Very nice for the money.

We don't know the bottle size or ABV my post was made just with an assumption of bottle size, if 330ml then its £6.00 per litre.......To be honest if I want ABV of above 6.5 or 7% then I prefer wine

These are 33cl, and work out at £2 a bottle which for Belgian beer is a decent price. Granted these are not the greatest but the Gulden draak bottles are far superior than Leffe or Hoegaarden, nothing hipster about these beers.

yep, horses for courses, it’s a standard boxed pack that comes around every few months so we can be 99% sure of the abv and the bottle size (serious belgian beer like monks stuff is never in half litre in my experience)

very strong stuff looks like the same omph a Duvel.
Ditch the Bornems and chuck in a couple of Chimay Rouge and I'd have 'em.

Thanks for showing the exact beers - were they the same beers at £7.99? That was a crazy bargain if so, still seems good value at this price for strong Belgian beer

It was the same box on sale before, I know because I bought it! However, I don't recall what the price was.
I think it's been a couple of years since they've been £7.99, I still think they are worth having at £11.99 so will be picking up a couple of boxes myself
I always get a couple of boxes of these when in stock. Fabulous beers, if you like Heineken, they are probably not for you though. Go on and treat yourself, you know it makes sense.
Yeah it was £7.99 a couple of years back. Must have been a pricing error at the time.
I remember when they was £6.99 (2016) at £11.99 is still a good deal
Unless someone can tell me where I can get a Golden Draak for £2 per bottle?

Certainly has gone up in recent years (partially due to the exchange rate I would imagine)

But i will certainly be getting a couple of boxes as they do represent good value - for reference I recently bought a 12 box of westmalle 12 at just under £3 a bottle. These will certainly pad out my Belgium beer supply

Hoegaarden and Leffe are both macro beers. Imagine someone in Belgium having the chance to purchase some Northern Monk beer, but instead saying to get big pint tins of Carling.

Where are you getting Westmalle at that price? Is that the Tripel?
Not sure how these can be cold. £2 for each beer is pretty good value, you would pay around €1.60/70 in a Belgium supermarket or around €2 in corner shop. Beer is a decent quality too.

In a UK bottle shop you are looking at £3 to £4 for each of these beers so it's a good deal and I will certainly be seeking it out

Exactly, also no idea why these are cold! I guess there's more Belgian beers for us. If you're into Belgian beers also check out belgianbeers.co.uk/bel…ox/
was £1 cheaper 2 years ago ( I found an old post about it!) , so I don't think that's a bad price increase, I'm hoping to pick up a couple tomorrow.
Can't go to Belgium to get it so I'm in Great deal if you ask me. Doubt you'd get this cheaper anywhere else even Belgium
Just went to get 2 boxes thanks @RegDab !!

Bit more info about the beers - got a couple of boxes.

They also had big bottles of Hoegarden for those who like quantity over quality!

I'll never forget the first time I tried Hoegarden when I was a kid. There's always one in the group who thinks he's "too cool" and he ordered a pint. We were almost as shocked by the glass and curious milky white liquid in it as we to by how much it cost. Needless to say he didn't look too cool after the look on his face when he took his first and only sip! It was passed around and then poured down the drain!

I'm not really one for strongly flavoured beers but I'm following a few beer threads on here so I can try and stock up on some different stuff for when it's safe to invite friends over for a few beers in the sun - I'd like to have a pretty reasonable mix and these certainly sound as though they'd appeal to a few of the blokes!
