To be fair, I don't think this variety has been posted. Nor have I seen them before and I usually check the cables once a week or so.

I have been going to my local pondlife since these were posted a few weeks back as a new/updated stock range. The USB 3 and newer networking ones haven't made it to sunny Teesside although I have seen these before. The problem is that yes they are an OUTSTANDING price but people keep posting and posting.

Been back through a months worth of poundland posts and I can't find this cable posted before. Closest I can find is this:

hotukdeals.com/dea…749

and this:

hotukdeals.com/dea…036

Neither of them mention a cable with a swivel end. I can see why you might find cable posts annoying, but I find them helpful *shrugs*

thanks op, I will have a look

Braided & swivel, great find op

Thanks for posting.

I rather go in Currys and pay £70 for one because they told me it better.

1M is a bit short but I really could do with one, sadly my local Poundland has never had any HUKD stuff in it in like 3 years.

I tend to agree when someone posts "optical cable, WOW! Or scart, wow .... This is a good post op, all I can say is this does indeed seem to be " amazing value"

Graham1979

good luck with that.

Hopefully my local will have them in, might pick up a couple as spares. But 1m is not as long as you think, I've been caught out a couple of times in the past with audio/video cables thinking 1m will be fine only to find I needed 1.5m or 2m cable. Cheers OP, voted hot.

If 1m isn't as long as you think, then you don't know how long 1m is.

There are 3 Poundland stores within a few miles of Southampton and I have never seen any Belkin branded cables for sale at any of them

Same here, normal cheapo ones. I'm a big fan of belkin cables for there price.

Will keep a look out, not seen these but following other similar posts have picked up USB3.0, HDMI, Travel Mouse, and other cables, all still selling elsewhere for the full price - awesome.

Great price even if only 1m isn't very practical at times.

Pay £70 and your picture will be seventy times better than using this cable.

Only an idiot would buy an overpriced flashy Belkin HDMI when the £1 Poundland HDMI cables work just the........ oh wait

Its amazing that the guys in Curry's and the other high street tech stores have the conscience to try and peddle these things out at those ridiculous prices.

Last time I bought a TV, the cheapest place I could find it just happened to be Comet (good riddance), and after knocking their price down a little as I knew I could thanks to this website (managers special discounts etc), the guy then insisted on adding a super high speed 3D ready HDMI cable into the package at a premium price, telling me I was saving £10 on it by buying it with the TV. I told him I already had a HDMI cable that was quite capable of carrying the signals sent by 3D blu-ray players, but he insisted that it wasn't a high speed cable as I had bought it dirt cheap, and that premium cables simply do not cost pennies. I told him I would look into it when I got home and that I wasn't interested in buying a cable that cost more than the 3D blu-ray player I was buying. He gave up eventually and moved on to the next product he had obviously been told to sell me, a Monster surge protector socket adapter at around £100, the most fantastical adapter ever invented, which would even CLEAN my electricity. I don't know if these are actually any good but had I not been getting a good deal on the TV I would have walked out at this point.

I can only feel sorry for the people who aren't as tech savvy as some of us, and are talked into believing they need this sh*t for their new stuff to work properly. It's disgusting, honestly.

This deal though. HEAT. Awesome deal. Suck it Currys, Comet, Maplin etc.

The Belkin cable my poundland had only supported up to 1080i

Great Find, but you would be AMAZED on how many FAKE Belkin Products circulate especially on Ebay... they are 1000s of Belkin FAKE imports from China.... the KEY to knowing a FAKE is in the packaging, and funny as it sounds the better and newer the packing looks then its likely its a fake. As I understand it Belkin UK as a Home Entertainment Cable Manufacturer stopped making AV related cables years ago, giving a rise to FAKES especially in China... especially HDMI & Optical Cables....

Belkin PureAV cables was the BEST and they can be still found on Ebay.... but again the newer the PureAV packing looks the likelyhood its a fake..

to know a genuine over a fake most genuine Belkin Cables especially the PureAV range come in dark blue packing (grey at the bottom) with little info in relation to speeds etc supported.. the FAKES mostly come full of INFO on the box with supported speeds and logos, mostly in white-grey packaging and looks VERY NEW & PROFESSIONAL... on a fake you will find all-sorts of logos such as 3D, 4K, 1080p etc etc.... and to CONCLUDE 95% of Belkin Home Entertainment Related Cables are PURE GREY out of the box.... the fakes are usually white-silver with gold-plated ends and look much newer....

Belkin cables are perhaps one of the most FAKED cable brands especially on Ebay.... but I have seen them circulate many market stalls and no doubt end up in some shops to.

The Cable in question does seem genuine but even this is questionable since the ONLY info that can actually be found on this cable is found on Belkins Malaysian Site... if you go to Belkin UK or even Belkin US and search for this cable you WILL NOT find anything, nor any info in relation to this cable at all... however it seems its genuine but obviously from the Malaysian Office.

Shame it's only 1m long. Damn good price though.

Finally something I would buy from pound land. Only trouble is the usuals will have bought up the entire stock and put it on ebay.....

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

This exact cable is £84.99 on the currys.com website.

I'm seriously tempted to go to currys and buy 5 of these on a price match instore just to see the pain on the managers face when he authorizes a 98.8% price reduction on the tills.

Have some heat ... I still remember when I was desperate on a Sunday and paid £55 for a 50p HDMI lead at Currys.

With all that being said ... do they function as intended? If they do, I don't see what the problem is at 99p. I spend more on chicken & chips.

plus that and they sell them at pcworld/currys and amazon - interestingly the RRP on amazon is £32.99 i.e. less than half the price currys are selling them for.

No difference between 1.4a and 2.0 cables.

The HDMI spec says anything labelled "High Speed" which 1.4a is required to be, will work with HDMI 2.0 equipment.
