Create a multi-user HD home entertainment network through your electrical wiring. Imagine streaming flicker free HD movies, lag free gaming and more all at the same time. No need for special wiring, with Belkin's Gigabit Powerline HD networking adapters, it is that simple.

Powered by Gigle Semiconductor's mediaxtream chip, Belkin's Gigabit Powerline provides a secure, stable networking signal anywhere in the home - even for areas that are hard to reach by wireless connections.

Because of its high Gigabit speeds and consistent connection, Gigabit Powerline reduces online gaming latency and provides large bandwidth, making it ideal for online PC gaming and ultrafast high-quality transmission of multiple video streams delivering content at 1000Mbps of speed.

Create an even stronger network by adding a third or more Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD adapters to your set up. This enables the Xtendnet feature that provides more stability and better performance, essentially making the network "self-healing". The more adapters in your network, the more reliable the connection will get.

Setup of a powerline network is simple with its plug-and-play connectivity: plug one end of the adapter into an available wall socket. Connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port (RJ45), such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer

Thats a good price and im very tempted to get them but im assuming I would need to get a gigabit router to along with it?

Oh dont forget quidco on top

Its actually the same price at eBuyer @ £89.99

Can anyone confirm that you can add a 10/100/1000 switch to a 10/100 router or do you have to upgrade the router too?

You can add the switch, just plug all gigabit connections into it then the 100Mb one to the router.

Do these work on the same network as the 200Mb ones? I already have 6 of those, but be nice to get a 1Gb connection to my home server and leave the rest on 200s.

Does anyone know the true speeds of these? I have a pair of 200s and in practice they work at about 15.

That all depends on your wireing as this directly effects the speed you get .. different people will get different speeds from the same product

Here's some review on Amazon.

Most ppl don't seem impressed by them!

I read those reviews too

I've got the 200mbit belkin ones which I'm quite happy with (I get about 48mbit\s which is plenty for streaming high def to my media pc) but people seem to be finding that these are no quicker than the 200's presumably due to the house wiring.

Be intersting to see some stats from somone who upgrades from 200's to gig.

My friend,

your connection is as fast as your slowest connection. This means you CAN add a 1Gb switch to a 10/100 router but your connection speed will be 100Mb/s from computer to computer. Can I ask why you're upgrading your switch (if you are)?

PC Pro magazine reviewed these and they found they were very good on the same ring, but poor if not - as commented above only as strong as the weakest link!

Now £109.99 at play

Even cheaper here.. £65.99 + shipping, £74.51 inc postage + VAT.

A few other guys ordered it in the office here with me, so ended up £9+VAT shipping for three, so £69.52 each

These are now £84-99
