i recommend you read the manual before buying some multifuntion printer features such as scanner may not work.
product on the belkin site
belkin.com/uk/…282
check if your printer is compatiable first before purchase. i cant seem to find a compatiability list online if anyone else can please post it. alternatively contact belkin. the only link i can find is this which does not work web.belkin.com/sup…asp
found a ne expert review here zdnet.com.au/rev…htm darn it this print server thing has vista compatiability issues only good for xp, curses vista.

i typed that myself, not part of the product description btw, but yeah since it does not include a modem you have to use your own dsl or cable modem, refer to the manual posted and belkin site for more info. one of the reviewers says turning off hsm improves wifi so if you are reciving poor wirless connection try that.

Yeh I know you typed it. Was just quoting it because its right.

Would the usb for the printer also be able to attach a harddrive for sharing?

Could I plug and Xbox into this and connect it to to my network instead of paying for a wireless adapter?

Great price anyway, Heat added.

Not sure whether you could via the USB, however most routers you can configure to run in bridge mode and certainly you can connect to XBL that way.

Thanks.
I was thinking of just using the ethernet cable into the router then send that to my main router using wireless if that makes sence.

Yes, you could use any router that can be configured as a wireless bridge, including the wireless bridge that Belkin have as their "Wireless gaming adaptor" which morgan computers sell for 25 quid. And any router that can be configured to work as a bridge would work this way, ethernet out of your xbox, into the router and then its bridged (after configuring your main router password into the bridge) to work with your main router.

I personally just use one of those Wireless gaming adaptors Belkin produced, I got on clearance for 20 quid from Comet a year or so ago...but all that effectively is is a bridge with an intuitive interface.

If thats the case also would be useless for XBL

I was looking at this last week. The Print Server part of this router is for Windows only, so can't be used with a Mac.

i bought this last week for my kids, all thou it is a good product the instruction are in german i think all thou the installation cd is in english and there is an english manual tucked in a folder in on the cd in .pdf format so you well need to download and install abode reader first, other than that it was easy to up, step by step destructions on the cd.......... BUT you willl need to but a figure 8 power cable as the lead that it comes with is the 2 prong type (shaver style)

on installing the software and entering the router setup think it was 192.168.2.1 i am positive i so bridge options

yes it has 4 ports on the back to attach what ever you like but might need to have some ports opened for xbl to work proper once router is installed and working open web brouser and type in 192.168.2.1. and this lets you into the router and set up passwords and bridging and port forwarding and all that

In that case not a bad buy, if bridging mode does work.

do yu have a list of compatiable printers?

Hmmm very tempted by this, as I'm having trouble connecting to an Apple Airport Express router in a new house I've moved into.

Hopefully I can run a second ethernet cable from the modem to this router and get a wireless connection to my PC that doesn't constantly drop out.

Thanks for the info.

I think I'm currently having problems because the router I'm connecting to is an Apple router, and optimised or whatever for connecting to Apple PCs and also allows for seamless streaming of iTunes among other things.

I'm going to try and get a more solid connection working tonight, but I just hope this router doesn't go out of stock before then.
