OK, so not as good as the £9.99 deal a couple of weeks ago, but still a great price for a basic wireless 'G' adsl modem/router, ideal as a spare

This is a good deal and you can buy an adpater at TechDNA if your PC does not have wi-fi

Good grief that's cheap. Perfect for a spare as you'd say.

For use as a spare though, it's a good idea to configure it for connecting to your ISP and with the same WEP/WPA key and make sure it works. If your existing router fails, you might struggle to find out your adsl username/pwd without an internet connection.

Anyone know if this works with Talk Talk?

got mine for a tenner. Not bad as my house is one of the new ones made of paper and can get signal everywhere at full strength.

Just a heads up that you will get the version with internal antenna.

It works with any BT asdl ( non-cable)

This works great with BE Broadband if it helps anyone.

The installation of the router requires you to enter broadband details such as connection type (e.g. PPPoA), VPI/VCI and the encapsulation method. So make sure you know these details.

Mine did not ask for any of those. I am with plusnet. Just put the CD and follow instructions.

Perfect for a backup for my BE Modem, thanks OP, ordered

thanks cheaper than fleebay and should be better than my naff netgear

I got this last week at £9.99 from Play, it's not quite the same as the picture as there is no external antenna or upright stand, so I hope the signal strength is ok for those that need it. I only wanted it for a simple wired network in one room.

Still a great price though.

I ordered one but it has not landed yet. Bit miffed about the stand, how are these for overheating?

Yep!
Mine didn't arrive either, so £10 for nothing isn't such a good deal !

Just slightly warm to the touch, strange you havn't got yours yet, mine came quicker than normal compared with my usual Play deliveries.

I'm still waiting for my £9.99 one to arrive after Play sent me the wrong one out before.

my sister had a wireless n1 Cable belkin router & now moved to B internet so no longer requires it. Though its a cable router you still need to run a line from the cable modem to the router via ethernet cable. does this mean I can use this with my BE broadband modem?

I ordered one when it was £9.99.

Didn't work correctly with my Sky ADSL2, but using non Sky provided equipment is against their Ts&Cs. They want £30 to replace my out of warranty router.

I think they check the MAC address on the router and it is possible to alter the MAC address on this, but I haven't got round to testing it yet.

I'll try tonight and post the results tomorrow.

Guys, Think this is different to the £9.99 one which I believe is this one:-

play.com/PC/…nre

The £9.99 doesnt have an ariel ect ect

Question is, is it worth splashig the extra £3 for this + model? Any feedback appreciated

Also does not have an ADSL modem built in, so not good if you have a BT line (will only work with Cable BB i.e. Virgin)

The recent deal for £9.99 that I got was the same model as this post ie: F5D7634-4A-Hv2 and does have a modem (no antenna), the model you are quoting (also £9.99) is a cable router F5D7234uk4-H.

Hmm.
It arrived and setup was a doddle.
Works fine.

Not the MAC address causing problems on my sky connection afterall.

The MTU setting defaults to something like 1454. Changed it to 1500 which it was on my original Sky router and everything seems to be working fine,

Mine arrived today. the UK4A-H (Internal Aerial) and from the front looks like it sits horizontal...typical Play and it's pictures - grrrr

Before I send it back, has anyone used the same model? Does it put out a strong-enough signal ?

Noob question but I purchased this in the hope it would replace my current Sky Sagem wireless router as I can't access work networks due to security issues etc...anyways there is no adsl port on this to connect to phone line and when I tried to plug into normal ethernet port on router it still wasn;t working.

I take it this is won't work or replace my current system and is just a 'bolt on' to a normal modem?
