Thanks! Just ordered!

Noob question but can I use this as a repeater so I can put this in an area of my house with a rubbish signal? cheers!

Be aware - no dd-wrt support for this router!!

this is really old technology now. Surely an N+ ADSL 2+ wireless router is the way to go now, most providers are giving them away free. I got one from those nice people at O2 the other day.

Yes, you can. (page 41 of user manual)

Sounds good, ordered

Great price but do be aware the guest network is on 192.168.1.x network which cant be changed!!! Meaning if you have a home lab you will be required to change the addresses of your devices, as there is no way round it!!

Will not effect everyone but just thought i would make everyone aware!

Thanks. My current one is acting up a bit and I've been after one for a while.

Can i replace my crappy free virgin one witbh this?

Not if you are on Virgin Cable, this is ADSL, as stated in the OP.

Not if you have cable from Virgin. If you have broadband through your BT phone line with Virgin then yes.

This is nothing but a hot deal. Heat added. 15 ordered.

What if I own a BT Home Hub? Can this be used as a repeater for that?

O2 don't give them away for free - the router remains their property. They ask you to send it back when you leave them.

Just what I needed... I was thinking about buying a wireless N capable one but none of my computers at home have this feature and I would not use it on this settings. For 10 quid I can't complain.

And the o2 ones don't work with another providers as far as I know!

And some of them contain security vulnerabilities that haven't been fixed for over a year, despite O2 knowing about it...

Although old technology, its cheap for a brand name ADSL router. I don't rate Belkin very highly as I've been through about 5 F5D7230s and found the customer service to be appalling, however at the same time this is definitely a good deal for what it is.

Gob Stockingly Cheap +1

That's quite normal though and not likely to sway the normal user

I am on Virgin ADSl and have a Linksys WAG354G modem/router, the connection drops about 10 -20 times a day at random times and then behaves itself for many hours, would it be worth buying this one to replace it?

Hiya im with Virgin and in Need of a wireless router, Virgin quoted me £50 do i have to get theres or can i buy one of my own and fit it (however that is done), its so my daughter can use her laptop. Any help would be amazing as i don't have a cluw what im doing! Thanks in advance x

I'm fine with not owning it, if I ever move to any new provider in the future they will give me an even newer free one to borrow.

As I'm on O2 I dont need it to work with any other provider so that's not an issue for me. Do people subscribe to two or more different BB providers at the same time?

I actually had the Belkin N+ version of this F5D8635-4 before I got the new O2 box. Haven't noticed any difference in performance. The only thing is my wife prefers the black colour of the belkin.

If you have ADSL (i.e. your usb dongle plugs into the phone line) then this will work. Ive bought one for the Mother In Law who is also on Virgin ADSL (over a BT phone line).

Very nice price, very tempted as my Zoom one has no real controls and needs resetting every few days.

Good price for a new Modem + Router. Bought a DG834G v4 yesterday for £11 after bidding. I think DG834 is still a better a choice.

Can always configure this as an access point, even if you have a cable modem/router.

The "crappy free virgin one" is actually really good flashed with dd-wrt

Yes, I agree.

As long as you only want 1 xbox live or psn service in your house

Second hand is not new nor is there any warranty on 2nd hand dg834 whereas you have a lifetime warranty with Belkin who will endeavour to replace it with a new/model when the time comes.

I know but the only flaw in that thinking is that Belkin are shíte.

Netgear are nothing special either but at least Belkins upnp works 98% of the time. None of the Netgear modem/routers I own have a working single use upnp.

Ok, well its NOT "really good" it keeps disconnecting!

And I don't care if they are "flashed" with Gordan, they still don't bloody work properly

Got a bundle of them earlier.... Easy £30-£40 if selling on.... Good buy...

You best be trolling ¬_¬

It just arrived; Play managed to send out the wrong one and sent me a 5234 instead. Someone at Play needs glasses.
