wireless N with 10/100 physical ports.

I really am losing faith in humanity....

Decent price though if gigabit isn't important to you.

Great price for N, I managed to bag a Linksys one from the Broadband buyer deal earlier this week to replace my Belkin B,G router which when working is fine. unfortunately it randomly locks up or blocks some traffic on the network and for this reason wouldn't buy Belkin again.

Just remember you will need an 'N' wireless card in the PC as well if you go for these to make use of it probably stating the obvious here.

great price hot from me.

Is this the same one that you can get free from Virgin if your a customer?

Good price, but don't expect any support from OcUK.

Why? you don't get more than 100mbit transfer speed out of a Wireless N network.

look at smallnetbuilder.com/wir…t=1

for some tests.

Yeah good price. I've bought from Overclockers before and had no probs except for the courier being Parcel Force. However a work colleague ordered a grade B monitor for them, after a week he phoned to ask where it was, they said we don't have any in stock. My friend waited nothing was said so he what now then? The bloke from overclockers said u can get a refund then, he did the refund and then said Bye. No apology for wasting my colleagues time or anything. Shocking customer service.

Just need some ADSL routers at this price now! hot.

Could I use this to replace my Orange Livebox?

You can get ADSL routers at this price, depends if you're a brand monkey or not.

Because some people might want to connect their local network together using gigabit. The wireless won't be any quicker, but the rest of their network would be.

can you recommend a better one for say £50-80 (preferably 50). I've been half looking for one for awhile now but would rather spend a bit more if there is a big difference between this and a better one. thanks

Gigabit is important for wired file transfer between computers on a network. Has nothing to do with wireless.

Linksys make some reasonable Wireless N routers. I've found them to have an excellent range. Although as usual Linksys firmware can be a bit dodgy.

Cold - the worst router I have ever owend - would never buy another Belkin product - AVOID!

OK, but at that point it's probably cheaper to get an additional gigabit switch, like the Netgear one Amazon are doing for £35.

£60 all in isn't a bad price, and it gives you more ports and flexibility over their location than a single 4 port wired gig +802.11N router. Not as tidy I grant you mind.

I'll also observe that 100meg will let you copy 36GB in an hour. How many home users really need more wired network performance than that, especially considering this is a £25 piece of hardware?

Great router the best ive used and it cost me 45 quid

I read this kind of thing all the time but I've had a belkin wireless router running for over 6 six years without a peep out of it!

...If you get a good Belkin, they are great. The build quality appears to be highly variable though.

+1 avoid belkin, i tried to port forward on this router before and it crashed every time you clicked save and it restarted.

I bought a different belkin router for myself last month and wasted my money

belkin used to make nice stuff.
It's not the build quality as such , the issue is they are not making good firmwares for thier stuff.
If you turn these off at night they seem to not crash hardly atall.

Beats the point of trying to have your server on 24/7 does it not then? I am tempted but would like a gigabit wired one ;/

Sadly I paid nearer to £40 on eBay for the same item new as I ordered the wrong product  trying to save on delivery cost. If you're on an ADSL connection you'll want prodid NW-081-BE unless you're going to use the cable router with your existing modem like I've had to do. Be warned that this particular model suffers with DNS issues occasionally if your ADSL connection drops, often requiring a reboot or waiting several minutes (I don't know why). Because of this I've set my machines up to use the modem directly for DNS.

good deal. I actually own exactly the same one. And use it together with n-card in my laptop. Hot for me.

Sadly, I have to agree with the other posters how have had bad experiences with Belkin routers. My old one would need resetting at least once a day if I ever used it heavily (i.e. any p2p).

i have a netgear router that i paid £80 for & i get the same thing, i have to turn my router off & on if i want to use the network.

Belkin = tripe

is the range on this better than for example my Sagem Sky router.

If so i would buy one right now as the hassle with my house wireless network is unbareable at times

It will be far better! the second review on OcUK is from somebody who had the exact same problem before buying this:
]http//ww…l=3
you might wan't to pair it with a wireless-n adaptor to get a higher transfer rate/reach though: but obviously you can just see how it fairs with your existing setup first

Don't touch this router with a barge pole! trust me - you'll regret it. I'm not going to spell out the many problems this router has again like I have in my previous posts when this router has been offered up cheaply and as to why so many various online stores (like OCUK) are buying them in at next to nothing and selling them off cheaply. Instead save your cash and buy the new Belkin router when it comes out soon that or a different brand router that doesn't have all the problems this one comes with that Belkin HQ are more than aware of.

this is nice

probably true lol, but this was more than 3 stars and had to do with that specific router that the guy was having strife with!

I'm sure there is some substance to what folk say about this router but just because it's a Belkin? I use a neighbours and have little problem getting web access unless they're on the PS3...

I bought a Zyxel from Scan a good while ago that doesn't work... I'll never touch Zyxel again... :whistling:
