bargain thanks!

£50 at Amazon & Argos - can't be bad!
(Unless your broadband is via Cable you'll need a modem)

Real shame no modem, already have wireless modem, no point in buying to connect on to the other

Hot! + P&p (£3.99)

is this for cable or ADSL?

This looks a hot bargin as well if you want modem and USB bundle. Half price

Voted hot

I bought it for this price off Amazon last week and am using it with my BeThere ADSL just to make up the wireless-N network - connect ethernet from the modem straight into the back of this.

I dont need the built in modem, but if i bought this, will i still be able to use it with my set up and existing Virgin Media modem? Also, is this model equal or better then the one ive posted? Range/capability wise etc? Ive ordered the one ive listed but am now swaying towards what u have posted because of the wireless dongle that it comes with.

Excellent price for an excellent piece of kit.

I bought one just before Christmas from PC World for £35 (ish). Simple to set up and works without any problems.

Hot! Ordered! Thanks!

Looks like a good router this and seems ideal to replace my old Netgear. I was going to buy this BUT after reading a review on Play.com there may be issues with Xbox Live. Anyone confirm this?

The one you bought is for cable broadband which you have. The other one looks the same spec only it has a modem built in for adsl (customers using bt line for their broadband). You will need a wireless n dongle or card which can be bought for under £20.

Thanks for answering mate, i understand what you are saying, but what i wanted to know is if i bought the built in modem version, will i have trouble using it with virgins existing modem, i.e any clashes due to two modems or will i need to tweak settings etc. Because i may not always be with virgin and if i bought a modem version router that works with virgin and adsl, i will be future proof ready if that makes sense.

gigabit? Is that 1000mbps, as opposed to this one, 300kbps?

nah, its the network ports in the back of the router being 1000mbps rather than 100

Got one of these. Brilliant, easy to set up. Paid £31 quid when they were on offer at Argos. HOT.

That would be throughput for the home network/office network right, i.e LAN, as opposed to the speed handling of the modem connection that goes into the back of the router right lol, as we have many years ahead of us by the time the modem/internet speed catches up to 300mbps or indeed 1000mbps.

will it work with my G network ?

I mean instead of belkin G put Belkin N?

Buy a cheap 5 port Netgear for about £23-5. Gigabit N routers are/were still £80+ last time I looked.

That's what I've just done! Have some rep for saving me the £3.99

Hopefully I've bought the right thing, as I don't know much about these.

Basicly I have Virgin. I have a white cable coming into a box (modem?), with a blue (ethernet?) cable going off to my PC.

I now have a new laptop (with wireless) would it just be a case of plugging this router into the modem, and it will work?

Also, will it give me wireless for my PS3?

Sorry, am a real noob for wireless!

Well this seems a very hot price, was wondering, i have a linksys G router atm with my ISP Demon. Was wondering if this N router would work for me? I'll have a PS3, Xbox, Laptop and PC connected to it.

Was wondering what the difference in speed would be like also?

Thanks

None unless any of them has an N adapter :whistling:

Ps3 and xbox wont make no difference in speed although laptop and pc would if you have a wireless n card or dongle connected. Also note the speed increase would your networking speed not the internet speed. Also the range is better on wireless n routers.

I'm with Virgin. I have a Netgear router that I got off of them, but the thing is, they cap my speeds...Is this because I am using their router? If I get this, will they still be able to cap my speed? (I think it is fair usage policy or something, were they limit your dl speed depending on time of day)

its absolutely simple. this is NOT a MODEM. it is a router. you connect your Virgin Modem to this router and it broadcasts wireless internet. simple as that. The Belkin software interrogates your exisitng setting and sets it in the router. So, your blue cable that goes to your PC now goes to the modem PORT on the router and off you go.

Hi, can I buy something like this to extend a wireless network?

Basically I have a router hooked up in the study but due to certain walls the signal doesn't get all the way around the house. So I want to buy a router that will accept the wireless signal being distributed from the study and redistribute it amongst the rest of the house, will this do the job or should I go for something else?

can anybody tell me if this will work with virgin media please. i have a edimax wireless router i have had for a while but it is starting to be temperamental.
help please
