sounds like a good idea in principlebut when I had this model, it couldn't hold a signal very well. it made my phone think it had a strong signal because the repeated signal was very strong, however the connection back to the router was weak (not an issue with the router as all of my devices worked fine without the repeater) making my WiFi connection words than if I didn't have the repeater in the first place! Back to Amazon it went.

Is there one that you would recommend?
I bought one of these last time it was on offer and was pleasantly surprised. It's never dropped as far as I know and the speed is still solid, even the Ping is good for gaming. Heat!
Uses 2.4ghz band only, so instantly cuts the speed in half to talk back to router. Newer models use a 5ghz channel to talk to router then 2.4ghz channel to talk to devices (or vice versa)

Not all tablets and phones etc can take 5g
Running dual bands has proved quirky for me especially with apple products which seem to stall as they switch back and forth. Plus 5ghz range was poor f me. Switched off 5ghz on my router and this extender has worked flawlessly for me. Very easy to set up and no cut outs.

Do these actually work as my wifi in the front room is poor?

I had the exact same problem, when it came to gaming the Belkin disappoints. Did you find a better product to recommend?

Thanks
