OK so please do not start a - you only need a coat hanger, it does as good a job as any HDMI lead debate!

Can't seem to find an equivalent price for this due to not being able to find the size elsewhere, but Amazon do the 1.2m version for £20.74!

amazon.co.uk/Bel…8-5

This is a bargain if you need a long stretch of cable

They also have a the 1.2m flat version at £5.29 - a saving of nearly £15 on Amazon pricing

Not a bad price for a well constructed 9m hdmi cable anyway. It's not just about getting the signal from A to B, it's about the cable lasting and not falling to bits.

Wow, a coat hanger... really... explain!?!?

It's not a HDMI lead vs a coathanger. HDMI is digital so all the data is 0 or 1 (binary), it either works or it doesn't (a broken HDMI cable would cause pixelation/glitches because some data is not reaching your display).

But the coathanger test refers to monster cables outrageously priced audio cables tested against a coathanger and audiophiles could not tell the difference

My local dry-cleaners give you back your clothes on wire coathangers, hmmm.....

Free Audio Cables, with every item of dry-cleaning... now that's a deal that could get HOT!!!

cold since u can get the EXACT same job done using a £1 cable.

I'm an electrical and electronic engineer.

A HDMI cable carries a digital signal, so its not about the "how" the data reaches its destination, its about whether it reaches or not.
A digital signal is 1's and 0's (one's and zero's) thats all it is. once that information is received. thats it! it doesnt matter whether it got there through gold, diamond or whatever wire.
Stop believing false stupid, information! and stop being conned into buying stuff that u can buy for a lot less.

the only time the actual quality of the wire mattered was back when the signal was an analogue signal, eg. VCR's, = scart cables

Diamond wire? Are you high? Feel free to disagree, but just making things up makes your original claim of being an EE a bit silly.

And we're still waiting on you posting a 9m HDMI cable for less. If it's of comparable construction I'd be very impressed, if you can even find one for this price. Remember that the longer the cable, the more chance there is of low quality becoming apparent. Crosstalk, impedance, electrical interference. In theory any cable that meets HDMI standards should be fine, but you know that's not the case. Monster cables are a con. Cheap but quality cables, like this one, are well worth buying.

This is a fallacy, and you know it.
