Cracking price for a useful bit of kit. Cheapest it's ever been according to the Camel!

Did you forget to turn off the curling iron? Are the kids still watching TV? Is the dog sitting in total darkness because you’re running late? The Wemo Insight Switch gives you control of your lamps and small appliances whenever you want, wherever you choose and gives you on-demand reports about energy consumption and costs. Paired with Amazon Alexa, you can control your home with your voice.

When Wemo works with Nest Thermostat, you can set your lights to turn off automatically when you leave the house or go into away mode. No central hub or subscription is required. Also has an on/off switch on the unit, in case the Wi-Fi goes down. Compatible with Apple iOS 8 or higher and Android 4.1 or higher.

You can remotely turn it off and on to allow the power to whatever is plugged into it.

Why so expensive compared to others

Ah thanks.

It also tracks the power usage of the appliance that's plugged into it. Good price- have some heat

Tp Link HS110 (similar functionality) going for £24.99.

Oh dear. This price is terrible, really terrible.

So you’ve seen this product for sale new at a lower price? For clarity it’s not the standard wemo, but the insight version with power tracking/costings. I own this and the standard version along with the TP Link smart switches, they are quite different products although they offer similar core functionality.

The TP-Link HS110 does the same energy monitoring as this does but is cheaper.
(TP-Link also do a HS100 which does not do energy monitoring)

I use nine or ten different brands of home automation kit in my flat. The Wemo plugs are second only to my LG Musicflow speakers in terms of unreliability.

I have both TP link HS110 and HS100 and just didn't see any extra value in the energy consumption monitoring, maybe its just me!

I have had this Wemo smart plug, very u reliable. Switched to TP-Link HS100, much better and more reliable.
