Just saw this in my local Lidl and bought it instantly. I had ordered a LAVAZZA FANTASIA PLUS with integrated frother for £109 from Lakeland, changed my mind after seeing this because this seems good value for money considering cheap pods and compatibility with Nespresso pods also. Will be cancelling the Lavazza order soon. Hope I won't regret. Below is the official description:

If the pump pressure is true, and with a three year warranty, what's not to like?
Must admit, I really like Lidl pods....find them stronger than Nescafe ones. Good find.

You can get 1 pack of 10 pods worth £2.69, currently on offer at £1.69 which is not much but better than nothing.
Just bought one of these. I know next to nothing about coffee but I pressed some buttons on this and had a cup of hot black stuff that tastes better than instant coffee. Oh and it doesn't come with any capsules so don't forget to pick some up at the same time.

£1.69 per 10 pack is the standard price for Nespresso compatible pods at Lidl and Aldi.

Okay. Thanks for correcting me.
Lavazza is better if you like coffee. It’s loke comparing a Wii to an Xbox X. Cheap, yes. Pods cheap, yes. Better than Lavazza no but then you pay a premium for them. Pays your money, takes your choice.
Just purchased one of these machines my pods just drop straight through should this happen or is there something missing off my machine ??

Maybe something wrong with the machine. You should get it checked at your local Lidl. Take advantage of three years warranty.

They'll drop a little and be completely in the machine, but it shouldn't go through to the basket
Does anyone know any of the technical specs in terms of the time it takes to heat up from cold and make a cup?

I might get me one of these but I'm interested in efficiency. For example the amount of energy to produce a cup of coffee compared to a Nespresso machine as well as any energy saving features it may have?

I'm just thinking that if it's a drain on electricity, I might as well get a more efficient coffee machine and save the money in the long term.

We're in the same boat. I also got tempted by this machine while I already had a Tassimo.
Can you adjust the machine so it will fill a mug? Does it have some sort of scale for different cup sizes?

The machine is preset to 40 ml for Espresso and 110 ml for Lungo. You can press and hold the button to increase the amount of water and the machine will automatically save the amount setting for next time. However, it will only dilute the coffee to fill the mug. If you're after less diluted coffee, go for Lavazza which has more coffee in each pod or Nespresso Vertuo which offers different pods according to the cup sizes. Obviously Nespresso will be on the expensive side.
Sorry it may sound a silly question but I'm complete novice to coffee machines. Can you make cappuccino and latte on this machine ?
Aldi have one of theirs nesspresso compatible machines this week too, posted earlier in week - only red still available online though...

There isn't any inbuilt options for cappuccino and latte, for those you'll need a separate milk frother. The machine is now reduced to £29.99 in some selected stores.
Capsules on ours also drop straight through.
Do you have to keep your finger on the button all the time? I find when making a coffee if I press then remove my finger it stops.

The machine might be faulty. Make sure to get the machine ready by plugging in and pressing any button to heat up before putting the pod in, if you aren't doing it already.

What capsules are you using? I bought this machine the other week and have been using the Bellerom Lidl capsules with no issues. I have recently bought some L'or coffee capsules (all aluminium design) for 2 quid and they go straight through the machine. Comparing the two capsules, on top of the bellerom capsule the plastic is thicker than the L'or capsule. The solution I found was to remove the capsule compartment/drip tray thing and load the capsule from the bottom which will lock it in place. Another solution is to not drop it in place but to carefully place the capsule through the top until it rests on the mechanism and then release. It might take a couple of goes but once you get used to it it becomes second nature. I suppose wrapping some sort of food grade o-ring around the top might yield the same result as well.
