Ben & Jerrys 500ml £2 or 2 for £3 @ FarmFoods

Found 23rd Jul 2012
Went into Farmfoods in Pentwyn, Cardiff yesterday and found these, £2 for one or £3 for 2 500ml tubs. Don't think its a local deal only as there was a proper price sticker for it and was told by the checkout girl about the deal also.

Sounds too good, considering most supermarket's are now only offering at two for £7 when on offer.

My local (Ely, Cardiff) has never stocked these

It must have been well over a year ago when Asda were selling them at £1.50 and I stocked up.haven't seen them less than £2 since so mega hot assuming this is true

Apparently this is only for 'Fairly Nuts' and 'Coconutterly Fair' flavours, and it is nationwide, just rang the customer services.

Great offer, especially if national. Best offer recently was £3 per tub @ ASDA.

This is in my local, but only for Coconutterly Fair and Fairly Nuts as mentioned above

Darn! It's harder to keep track of Morrisons prices due to their limited online presence.

never seen 2 for £7 ever, dont think you know what youre talking about … never seen 2 for £7 ever, dont think you know what youre talking about unfortunately. These were £2 each in morrisons recently which is usually the best deal you can get.

mrlee is right about them being 2 for £7 before.

very cheap will be getting loads just in case the sun comes out (joke) will get them for the kids all kids like ice cream.

cracking deal! Heat added!

Support Cop killers. Cold.

Same said flavours in my local Farm Foods this morning (Gorleston-on-Sea) 2 for £3

Heat. This is one of those foods that you feel like crap for buying: 1. Because it's so bad for you and 2. Because it's so expensive. However when it's on offer like this point 2 is no longer an issue and point 1.. wait, what was point 1 again? Ah who cares I have ice cream and it was cheap!

Morrissons has now gone up to 2 4 £6 so this is a cracking deal !

Why would you take the time to berate someone when you have no idea what you're talking about yourself? I popped in to Sainsbury's last week for some ice cream and was gutted to see they were 2 for £7 - which is ridiculous!

What makes it ridiculous? It's better than £4.49 each.

I never said it wasn't

And if you don't know why £7 for 1ltr of ice cream is ridiculous, then jog on.. you're not on my planet!

Sainsbury's wouldn't offer it at this price if it didn't sell so it seems many people are not on your planet. I'm sure you are aware that there is many things in life where there is more than one choice where those choices are broadly similar but priced very differently due to differences in quality. Sticking to groceries, I can go to Tesco and buy a pound of jam for 35p or spend 8 times more and get a better jam then on the way to the freezer choose between different bread, ready meals, crisps etc. At the freezer there is choice of 2 Litres of Everyday Value ice cream at 89p or the Ben & Jerry's at 20 times the price, not to mention a lot in-between. Clearly there is a market for all these products at their respective prices.

Plenty at the York Clifton Moor store

You lost me when you said 'a pound of jam'.

Your reply had no relevance to the point I was making. I didn't want Sainsbury's ice cream, I wanted Ben and Jerrys. It was 2 for £7 and in comparison to regular offers on at other supermarkets, that was a poor offer resulting in a price that I felt was ridiculous. They should check their competition out a little more thoroughly.

Oh and lastly, Sainsburys regularly offer things at prices that cause them not to sell. The reduced aisle is heaving every night and I don't remember them winning the 'best value' supermarket in my lifetime. 2 tubs of ice cream for £7 is ridiculous no matter how you try to justify it.

In case anyone is interested, they're also currently half price on Ocado at £2.24 for the normal types (including Vermonster, striker33!) and £2.49 for the Core types. Looks like you can get all the flavours I know about.

If our freezer actually worked instead of acting like a second fridge these would be lovely.

It is definitely local.

I saw the same offer in the Norwich branch last Sunday.

I like the ice cream banter

Got them in Knightswood Glasgow today. x

Removed some of the later posts as they were thread spoiling in the OPs deal thread - please remain polite towards other forum members at all times, thanks

Seems VERY good, I work for Unilever and at staff purchase these are £2 each.

Wow! One of the supermarket offers that actually existed when I shopped there! Heat!
