These may be available in pound shops but surely 39p is cheaper than the cost of getting to one especially if you hardly ever venture into a town centre that has a pound shop.

As I said I'd need to drive 6 miles into town, park, have to put up with mindless shopper ants and then queue for about 20 minutes behind the people buying 'carry on' mugs to replace the pound shop tripod I bought 3 years ago that lasted less than a week before breaking

The hassle isn't worth 39p ;-)

This site is about price, not the distance you live from a pound store

So if there was a tripod available for 98p instore at one shop in the Outer Hebrides it would be a hot deal?

Plus the poundshop tripod you showed isn't the same design. The one I linked does not have legs that don't hold up a camera that weighs more than a chocolate button ;-)

the 7dayshop tripod used to be a pound... but still, a nice & mostly useful addition to my camera. Just make sure that the screw fixing in your camera is in the middle. if it is to one side, then this stand wont balance properly

I got one of these for my daughter at Christmas to go with her budget video camera. It'll hold up a chocolate button, but only just!

My poundland tripod had telescopic legs that used to fall under the weight of a fruit fly

Wow!! That's a great camera - looks like a 3D rollfilm camera?

I'd love to see what happens when the camera needs to be angled slightly :-D

I bought these a while back and I dont recommend them. YES, its better than nothing (I give it that) but its very clumsy... falls off even if you hit it slightly and is built poorly. Yes, given the 1 quid price point - you get what you pay for.

It would make making my home movies a lot easier so thumbs up!

If this site is "Just" about price then surely 3 matchsticks & some blu-tak would be the nonpareil option. wot wot.
There said the mayor that's that.

It would be a good alternative to the on the OP has listed I agree

Is this useless for my D3000? Will that be too heavy?

Aluminium one will not stand even couple of uses when this one btw also in pound-land and in 99 stores is simply AMAZING!

It easily takes my Sony A300.

I got one of these bendy ones (badged with a Kodak sign) from my local poundland (Bletchley in milton Keynes) about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if they have any more though. Ohh and for the record I use it on my Canon S5IS which is almost as heavy as a DSLR camera.

My daughter has this tripod (unbranded from Asda but deffo the same one) for her little compact. I've just tried it under my D5000 and it instantly collapsed.

Low price or not, nothing compares to the Joby Gorrillapod IMO.

These are infinitely better than the aluminium poundshop ones.

Not for a D3000 they're not. They won't hold a D50 either.

The Poundland one will.

I've got one of these. If you've got a compact the size of a pack of cards this will serve you well but as many have said it will not take a lot of weight so don't risk your Canon L glass on it.

I need one of these, bought and voted hot
