What's the point of a 28" Full HD monitor?

None.... Well, unless someone is far-sighted and cannot use a monitor at normal distance. But for normal people, If you want anything above 24", you'd want a 1440p monitor to keep up that pixel density.

When you want a big screen but don't have the cash or a powerful.enough computer to justify 1440p?
Everyone's vision is different. Many people will benefit from a lower PPI monitor. Its really common in the Office environment to see monitors with a 75-90 PPI as they tend to comfortable for most people. Alongside the flicker free and low blue light it does appear this monitor is targeting the Office/Home Office user.

Its not going to be suitable for gamers with the bad response time. Nor is it going to be useful to video/image editing professionals.

The fact it also has a VA panel and is priced £139.98 makes it bargain. Already pointed out the deal to an older relative.

Nah not really.
Bird68

Wait, 5ms is a bad response time?

Well, it's 5 times worse than a 1ms monitor and that's not a good thing if you wish to game on it. Having said that, it'll still be faster than a TV...

Perfectly acceptable for anyone with a PS4 Pro with games that supersample.

5ms is the Grey-to-Grey response time. The typical response time is listed in the full specs further down the page - 20ms.

For sitting 7/6 as far away as you do, or for someone with only 6/7 as good eyesight; I think it works something like that!

QHD would scale the image better.
You could view 4x 720p streams simultaneously at native resolution or a single one at 2:1.

any particular reason?

Or if you want to push the monitor to the back of your desk and have more room in front of it for other stuff. Despite the aggressive complaining from people they don't suit, lower DPI screens are definitely of benefit in some circumstances.

Grey to grey is the typical transition a monitor performs (particularly in stuff like games and video where it matters). Pixels flashing from black to white and back again is atypical.

And the claimed response times bear little resemblance to reality, most LCDs are around 5-10ms at a reasonable level of overdrive when measured. If ghosting is important to you then you need to go by reviews, as the specs are meanginless.
With eBuyer if you live in the North East expect 2 weekends somehow included in the "5 day delivery free - somehow. Its why I stopped buying stuff from them as nowhere else seems to have to wait that long

Theres no points. It's all flat
I have been using a 27" 1080p monitor for 5 years and it looks great, I am still very happy with it. Don't feel any need to upgrade. I am a budget gamer so happy with 1080p for now.

There appear to be those here with some knowledge of current monitors.
Please can someone recommend me a replacement monitor for my ageing Dell U2311H?
i cant afford £700 - £200 would probably be my limit - is there a worthwhile upgrade for that money?
Primarily interested in photo editing - no gaming.
