so its worth that much to display a semi naked chick?

I thought that too, considering its a "Gaming" monitor, surely a picture of a game would be more relevant advertising lol..

The monitor looks ugly anyway! Maybe the girl was there to distract that thought!

Sorry - i always took 'gaming' to have a different meaning to 'on the game'. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Not a bad price for an A-MVA monitor, however it's main competitor is BenQ's own FP241W which is cheaper and fully adjustable (despite what the OcUK specs says this doesn't adjust at all) so the only advantage this has is looks and BFI (which isn't what it says it is and has somewhat limited use). Cold deal for me.

this seems like a lot of money for essentially a (hang on let me recheck post and try not to stare to much at the distracting may-as-well-be-naked lady) 24" monior/tv.

is this aimed at console gamers or pc gamers? surely £470 can get you a bigger and better HD tv?

Definately cold from me.

link to one that is bigger and half the price (and also seems to have all the same features)

And also seems to be a LCD TV and not a LCD Monitor.

Still voted cold due to the fact that overclockers UK give very bad customer service... and also the fact that they rip off their customers by selling Wii Fit for £130 a piece... I'd rather go to eBay!

This isn't a TV at all, it's a high-quality monitor.

Seems a hell of a lot of money for a 24" monitor

The way I understand it, when something is termed "gaming", it merely means overpriced: gaming monitor, gaming mouse, gaming keyboard (there was even a "gaming" chair at £200+)

You're spot on. Also add to the list the Gaming memory (standard RAM, but with a totally pointless heatsink, silly LED lights, and £30 added to the price), gaming CPUs (enter the QX9500, or whatever it's called, a CPU physically no different to the one below it, but four times the price), and gaming, well, yes, anything. I don't think there's a market yet to be tapped by the marketeers.

I'm fairly sure there's probably a 'gamer grade' SATA cable available somewhere.

way too expensive for an 24".

That can be true, but there can also be limitations on normal kit that show up in various types on games so real gaming peripherals (rather than old stuff in a new shell with a new name) are by no means gimmicks.

I dunno about looking at that chick but watching pr0n on a 24" monitor would give me a right inferiority complex :P
