Looks like a good price. Be aware that the G2400WA is available cheaper but it does not include the HDMI or DVI-D interface. Full specifications here:

is it any good though?? some new Samsung's coming out very soon..

man that is tempting!! - shame it isnt DVI...

The ebuyer one is HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, whereas the OYYY item appears to be D-SUB[VGA] only.

anyone know or have this monitor to know if it's any good? I've been waiting for the Samsung's 2493HM or 2693HM

Is this exactly the same model? Refers to DVI and HDMI. If so- slightly cheaper @ £247.15 delivered.

Cheers

x2srj,

Any more info on the new Samsungs mate?

gutted this hasn't any speakers or i'd buy it. Does any one know if i connect a PS3 through HDMI, can I get the sound to play through my PC spekers. I doubt this very much, but a valid question. I haven't a sound system with Optical in, so an optical cable from the PS3 - sound system is out of the question. Or can I direct the sound through the analogue cable from the PS3 - sound system and also plug in the PS3 to the montor via HDMI???

So many thoughts :-)

Hi M8,
We have a PS3 connected via HDMI to DVI cable and sound output via analogue connectors, no problem. The Audio and Display settings on the PS3 allow you to customise the outputs, so shouldn't be a problem

do you get full 1080p viewing and how good is the quality via the PS3?

cheers

I actually ordered one of these last week, but ebuyer cancelled it for some reason. I ordered another one earlier today, seems to be going through this time. I was a bit shocked to see it on HotUKDeals, though!

is it a TN or a PVA panel :-)

It's a TN.

24inch and TN panel will really show up the limitations of a TN screen.

If going 24 inch, you really should be looking at spending more and getting a better panel.

does anyone know if this monitor has a headphone socket for audio output?

Yes it does. Thinking of using that as a way of putting audio out?

just keeping my options open. I'm really not sure. I fancy this one ebuyer.com/pro…517 which comes with speakers, but it's £100 more expensive. Would I get a decent sound from my PC speakers if i connect them to the monitor headphone output?

Original Poster

yeah it's an option. Would i get an ok sound from my standard PC speakers from the headphone audio output of the monitor?

As far as I am aware, yes, you'd get the same sort of sound you'd get from a jack on your PC.
At least I hope so, it's what I intend to do as well.

is there anyway to hook up a xbox 360 to this through component ? I use a lcd tv at the moment but the res on this is much higher

I don't think there's a way to do it over component, but you can pick up the VGA cable from Game for about £15 (for the gameware version which is great quality).

It can't be done, just buy the VGA cable for the 360. About £15 in GAME, or get the official MS version for £20

I have mine hooked up to my pc monitor and is alot better than component, and will got to full res of 1080p

so i can use vga for the 360 and the dvi-hdmi for the pc/ps3 then? using a hdmi splitter box?

It has HDMI AND DVI, so you don't need any kind of splitter box.

cheers Kushan time to order one me thinks:thumbsup:

i just ordered this and also logitech 5.1

I just got mine yesterday and was greeted by a BIG BLUE DEAD PIXEL right in the middle of my screen.
BenQ (I've just found out) had a previously horrible reputation for replacing/RMAing TFT's with dead pixels, but I can't find any more recent information.
Anyone able to help me out here? Do I have to live with it or can I get it replaced?

EDIT: Just looked, apparently I need a MINIMUM of 5 dead pixels before they'll do anything. 5!

does this monitor have HDCP support?

prusingh

does this monitor have HDCP support?

Yeah it does.
The better question is, can the sound play through DVI?
