Not bad but not a big drop. It's only gone down £23, don't ever take notice of Amazons fictional RRP's

Been looking for a gaming monitor for my boy and I'm not expert but only 60 refresh rate no gsync some people asking questions say it has no USB etc etc

It's a 2014 budget 27 inch monitor. You get what you pay for. Is your son likely to use a decent 27inch that costs more? What graphics card does he have? High end? if it's low end you could easily buy something cheap like this.

For 144hz you would be paying a lot more than this. GTX1060 would not need 144hz. GTX1080 would need a much better monitor to fully benefit games.

*ALL* games can only display 60 frames per second because monitors refresh at 60mhz unless it is 144mhz but 99% of people cannot tell any difference whatsoever.

Anyone telling you otherwise (unless it is 3D) is talking nonsense.

The game can theoretically run at more but you cannot see a 60 rate is perfectly fine.

Thanks for the replies it's this one posted here on the Currys deals a few weeks ago

I just noticed it says maximum 60hz on there so it wouldn't play games at 144hz?
What about gsync is that worth it for this machine?

I saw this one posted here couple of days ago which through work scheme I can get £13 extra off would it be better option?

What are you talking about. You can easily see the difference between a higher refresh rate. With g sync enable on my games I can easily tell if the frame rate drops to 60. Apart from a few games, they can all output an unlimited refresh rate.

This is a great entry level 144hz monitor if you are interested in the higher refresh rates. As for the machine, it depends alot on the games he will be playing. It should happily achieve 144 FPS on rocket league, csgo etc.
I find on games like pubg where I'm only able to get 50-60 FPS g-sync becomes useful as playing games at a lower frame rate as your monitor can become uncomfortable.
Oh and that pc you linked won't work with g-sync as it has an AMD GPU, you should look for free sync if that interests you.
There's alot for me to say. Best place to ask these questions is reddit.com/pcm…ace

No displayport?, on the lookout for a 24' - 27' monitor with displayport and dvi-d. Looks like it's difficult to find that combination
